It has nothing to do with categories. Even in same exam, people who are not able to perform well say the exam was difficult, some say it was easy. Its a losers way of crying. You cannot prove your stance legally. It wasn't your day, work hard and best of luck for future.

Please refer to your application / NTS test’s score regarding award of scholarship under Culture Exchange Scholarship Programme for the Year-2016. You have been provisionally short listed for subject Scholarship Programme as Alternate Candidate.

02. Under this Programme only the Government of China will provide “Tuition Fee, Free Accommodation, Medical Care & Monthly Allowance CNY: 1700 for Master and CNY: 2000 for Ph.D” Students, during their tenure of study.

03. Application Form should be filled in online & must be submitted online as well. Two sets contained on following documents may be furnished alongwith the Application Form to the undersigned by the Courier Service or by hand upto 9th March, 2016.

Ø Educational Documents Matric/SSC /Equivalent to onward (duly attested, by Grade 17-or above Officer).

Ø Two Recommendation letters from the professors of the concerned universities where you have earned the last degree.

Ø Photo (attached with the sets), passport size.

Ø Health certificate on the prescribed Performa with blood test report issued by the Government Hospital only (two copies, the original health report and blood test will travel with the candidate to China if finally selected).

Ø The set should be properly in Tape Binding shape.

05. In case the requisite documents are not received on the date mentioned above the offer will stand cancelled, and if you are not interested to avail this facility please let us know in writing immediately. The Agency number is 5861, which should be mentioned in relevant column.

06. It should be noted carefully that this letter does not indicate final selection or award of scholarship as the final selection is the discretion of donor country. Decision of the donor country will be final and acceptable to all the parties at receiving end.

First go to your nearest government hospital for health certificate as soon as possible. All government hospital do not issue this certificate. For example in Lahore only services hospital issue this certificate and last year they demanded passport to apply. Therefore find out which hospital in your city issues such certificate and whether they need passport or not. If they need then apply for passport on urgent basis which requires 4 working days.

This should be a minimum of 200 words for undergraduate students, 500 words for non-degree students, and 800 words for graduate students.

Applicants for the graduate programs or the senior scholar programs must submit two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor.

6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy), (written in English, only required for applicants planning to stay in China for more than 6 months. The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid.

I called IPC today, they said merit for Sindh R stopped at 66 marks.
I've 67 and I've received email as an alternate candidate..
I just want to ask one thing what chances do I have as an alternate candidate to be selected for this scholarship.

this means the country does not need a scholar in xyz category.
and only people in social and management sciences will get most scholarship awards...

Anyone from kp who had received email?.

Yes the country does not want to invest on someone who is not worthy of becoming a scholar. Country want to send best of their talent abroad for exposure, and not someone who cannot qualify a test. Another reason is the admission criteria of host country and university. Its not like all forwarded applications are accepted by host country, therefore no point of forwarding an application which cannot secure admission, its just waste of seat which wouldn't have been wasted if some other category's competitive application was forwarded.

So in short, even if all 5 applicants of xyz category are selected by IPC, they will not be able to secure admission if they don't have a great profile, resulting in waste of seats which could have been avoided if only competitive applicants from xyz category were selected, but rest seats were utilized by other categories. That's exactly what current selection process does, testing applicants in their own categories yet making overall merit to minimize the wastage of seats.

People who are receiving emails have just passed the first round of scrutiny, few more to go.
