Any tips for an effective statement of purpose.. I want to write that for the further studies...

Start from your existing educational level, discuss the issues of your country, explain your objective behind further studies, define your role after completion of that overseas/scholarship study, your intentions to contribute in your country after that scholarship, value addition of that prospective scholarship.

I wrote this Statement for my younger Brother and he got admission in University of TEESSIDE UK,

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am *-*-*- Naseer, a qualified student of Master in Commerce from University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. I would like to pursue my Post Graduate studies from your prestigious university in the field of “International Management” Programme This Programme is my first choice for post graduate study because I prize my identity as a global citizen, first and foremost a member of human society rather than a product of any parochial affiliation. I celebrate globalization and very much want to become a specialist at fomenting global cooperation and collaboration in the areas of Financial Management and International Business. My own background, training, and principal professional interests lie in the area of Financial Management and Accountancy and the way in which they serve world society, overcoming barriers, bridging frontiers, and opening up new horizons—and these issues have long been at the center of my professional focus. I feel that my global perspective and interests make me a very strong candidate for your Programme and I look forward to being part of an academic community of like-minded people who are on the cutting edge of harnessing the power of International Financial Management to this world.

Why post graduate studies?

Likewise, I feel that my thirst for knowledge would never end. I wish to learn about my field to the deepest and then to implement this knowledge to solve the complexity of future financial business I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Sindh with a major concentration in Financial Accounting and Auditing. I have always been very pleased with the choice that I made early on to study Finance and Management of Funds because I am very determined to continue to forge a successful career in the areas of Accountancy, Financial Management, and International Business. At University of Sindh, I took keen interest in learning International Business and I am looking forward to learn the most current, state-of-the-art techniques for managing the business and client servicing, especially in our new digital age and with our increasingly global economy.

My long term goals are to some day start my own Fund Management agency in Pakistan. I plan to finish my Master’s Degree and then spend several years working in International Market in the field of Fund Management so as to gain additional experience, learning from others, and developing the level of competence that will place me in an optimal position to start my own company.


That’s because, I belong to a family where learning serves a basic role in our lives, and I was nurtured to excel at academics. I have an outstanding academic from grade 5 till my senior years at school and then achieving first division in matriculation degree in science. With such an academic record towards the subjects like mathematic I had no better option then to go for a science and engineering field in F.Sc (equivalent to A’ Levels) and then for Graduation. I got admitted to the Bachelors Programme in Commerce subjects. Thereafter I got admitted in a Masters in Commerce Programme with major in Banking and Financing.

During the internship period at State Life insurance Corporation. which indeed is the main life insurance company here in Pakistan, I came across the fact that regardless of vast development in technology and enough available funds, there is room to manage the fund in such a way where the company can earn more through better investment and fund management, and retained earnings can be shared with the policy holders. There I tried to grasp everything I could in order to come up with a solution to learn the pertaining situation. Although, I had no advance knowledge of financial management but with the basic knowledge I tried my best to understand the Financial Management and impact of recent recession in International Economic.

I also feel that one of the strongest aspects of my application is the fact that I have a well developed social consciousness and I want to become a success in these areas primarily so as to be able to contribute to the economic development of global society, especially that of the developing world and Pakistan and South Asia in particular. I am very engaged in the multiple and difficult issues surrounding the plight of poor children in my native country. I have several special or specific strengths to bring to your Programme in terms of my familiarity with research into the Pakistan marketplace, and organizations in Pakistan, and, especially since I can speak, read, and write Urdu, Sindhi, and Punjabi all fluently, I feel that I have great potential to participate in research projects concerned entirely or in part with Pakistan. I have also made a lot of progress in written, reading and spoken English.

What I want most in life is to continue to learn. I am a young, self-motivated man who is very dedicated and devoted to his field and determined to achieve success. I am an initiator and full of ideas for creative activities and, have ability to analysis business scenarios of modern world. The greatest contribution that I will be able to make to global society will be through my best services.

Now, I feel that all I need is a blend of in depth knowledge and practical know how which can be accomplished with post graduate studies from a reputable university in the aforementioned area of interest.
