I was totally relying on those $400, to feed my family at home and live in the CSC amount in China.

Perhaps I will take my letter to my boss, show him my last transcript and beg him for a full paid leave. If he agrees, I will go. Else Good luck boys it was a wonderful 8 months together.
will they allow you leave without pay?? at least you will have job security after completion of your studies.

in my case, i ll have to quit my job (federal govt; bps-17), reimburse around 100,000 to 150,000/- to my employer and then go to a chinese university about which i dont know anything, plus live there on chinese govt stipend only, which is equal to just 50% of my current salary

it all depends upon what you reckon will be the value addition to your professional profile after getting an additional degree. In my opinion it hardly makes a difference to pakistani employers especially if you aspire to pursue a career in the government sector. Actually you might end up getting a laughter of ridicule if you demand recognition for a degree from a chinese university.

Chinese education has poor reputation in pakistan and in the absence of a miracle, this reputation wont change anytime soon. Pursuing this program only makes sense if you aspire to go to some other foreign country after being kicked out of china, or perhaps pursue further degree from some other University. I did forego a govt job for this scholarship because i never wanted to work in a dilapidated govt office for the rest of my life and i have no regrets. But i consider it wise because i am 24years of age and have no responsibilities to cater for.

I, too, have resigned from an oil and gas exploration company. I think the exposure that we will get by studying in China or the degree itself will help us in enhancing our career. In almost every country, Chinese firms are working on numerous big and small projects. Take for example Pakistan, there are a number of projects on which China is already working and a number of projects are on their way. In such firms, they would prefer someone who have studied from a Chinese university and knows the culture and Chinese way of doing business.

The Chinese economy is one of the most growing economies in the world and it is even challenging developed countries like USA. Now a days, people from other developed countries are coming to China for degree and short courses to experience Chinese ways.

I called Chinese Consulate today. She said that following documents are required:

1. The JW201 form
2. Admission Letter
3. All Original Certificates/Transcripts with photocopies
4. Original Physical Examination Form (MOFA Attested) with Original Reports (I asked whether they will keep the original or not. She said that if you need the original, than bring photocopies of the Physical Examination Form and lab test reports but also bring the originals. Keep in mind that the original form and test will be required after reaching China, or else you will have to re-do all the medical examination)
5. Police Certificate (MOFA Attested)
6. Original Passport with photocopy of the first page
7. Two Recent Photographs with white background
8. Keep CNIC and a copy with you also
9. Filled Visa Application Form

I asked about whether we have to attest our degrees from HEC/IBCC. She said that the highest degree is required to be attested by MOFA. Does anybody know whether MOFA requires HEC attestation or not?

I still have not received my package as yet. I called IPC and they told me that they will dispatch it tomorrow which means we will receive it after Eid. They are not even telling the University's name. I wonder why they are taking so much time in dispatching the letters when the letters have arrived around 6 days ago.

thanx for the info. Yes, MOFA requires attestation of the documents from their respective institutions. I think now we have to visit HEC personally to get our degrees attested because lack of time

Thanks. Do we have to visit IPC, Islamabad in person for No Objection Certificate (NOC) after getting our Visa? Something like that was mentioned in the earlier year thread. If anyone know anything about this, please tell.

I believe there is a number of students who have not received the package from IPC including me. Those living in Islamabad have been able to get their package personally. I called them and they said that they will dispatch it tomorrow and someone in this forum earlier mentioned that they would do so through Pakistan Post. So this makes it clear that we will get it after EID. That surely does eat a lot of time. 051-9204225 is IPC's contact number. You will be very lucky if they attend your call and the luckiest if they tell you the university you have got into.
