Thanks for acknowledgement,
Dear keep in mind one thing, you have won this scholarship. There are two things one good and other not so, first i will tell the bad thing, in china you are totally at discretion of IPC and CSC, you can't choose if you are lucky enough you will get in a very nice university in English but still if you get it in English you will be studying 3 years and not a day less for your Masters in China else one more year for Chinese Language. And now for a good thing, Degree from China is acknowledged throughout the world, CSC will give you money but IPC will not do anything. 1700 Yuan is good enough to live in China but not very much to enjoy and you can not work here. If you have a good chance in Pakistan and have a job i will ask you to go for Masters in Pakistan and then go to China for PhD like I did, cause Masters in Pakistan will complete in 1.5 years. This is my advise which i am offering you to the best of my information. God Bless you.

Scary... Well I don't have much options at the moment. But studying Engineering in Chinese is definitely a deal breaker. I'm sure you can relate to your fellow students who were poor in English and how they had to struggle in B.Sc.... now in Chinese

Also what were your preferences for university in application? It may be that you selected top schools (Peking, tsinghua etc) and then could not get admission and then IPC chose randomly. It could also be because English taught programs ask for higher fee??? Well I hope I'll get admitted in ECUST or BUCT as they offer English taught programs. I'm going for getting medical done tomorrow, how long does all the tests take? God bless you too.

Thanks for the useful info saifjee.. I got my letter today. Just have a few days to fulfill the requirments. My field is also management sciences. I was wondering if there is any option of MS leading to PhD. Cuz m already half way through my MS here. I will only opt for it if given the option of MS leading to PhD.

Same case here, I am not getting NOC and so as the scholarship. I'll prefer my regular Government employment over 3 years Masters in China at the moment.

Default I left my job for this scholarship:

Study is your only stair to success. I gave about 4 years to PAK Army, then 9.5 to Govt of the Punjab. but my study leave was not approved. I would have not taken this chance but see, i was annoyed with my country and its rulers why on earth can't they approve my study leave. But then i took the decision I am suffering but this is what Army taught me, stand tall and fight the odds. I will advise those who are selected for PhD don't lose this chance, it will be the best thing for them, during my PhD i met voice dean of management school from Canadian University on a seminar here, after looking my interest in research and my research topic offered me Post-doc in his university on completion of PhD. I will not come back and this can be a great success for anyone in China, the world is inclined towards China now.
For Masters things are not healthy, you will have to go 4 years at least and then you will be eligible for PhD another 3 years. This is such a long period of time.

Default @saifjee

Do we need to attach research proposal with our application to be submitted to IPC if we want to apply for PHD in China? and do you think if my MS is still in progress, they will offer me admission in Phd? Please help. I shall appreciate your response.

I've already made my mind to left my job but waiting for a good opportunity like USEF, AUSAID, Turkish scholarship or Immigration.
I don't know why the Government departments are reluctant to give us " without pay" leave.
