Default Foreign degree verification.

Can anyone help me plz. I m currently based in england and inshallah will appear in CSS 2016. However I have heard degrees obtained from foreign countries have to be verified by hec which sends them to the relevant universities abroad for verification which can be a very lengthy process. I was wondering is it possible that I verify them myself here in UK so that I can save some time?
Any suggestions will be welcomed as I litterally have no idea whatsoever..
