Default LLB or I.R

Dear friends..!
I am confused to choose my career path.I have done bachelors with law and political sc as subjects.I am fond of doing LLB but at the same its my dream to fo to QAU.Now Qau doesn't offer LLB and I will have to study I.R or D.S.S there. If want to do LLB,there is no other option but Peshawar Uni.Keeping the following aspects in mind, which one would you prefer for me
1.CSS (My prime target)
2.Job opportunities at U.N.O (I think I can do it)
3.Possibility of becoming a good columnist/analyst (I possess writing skills which I am sure QAU will polish more)
4.U.S Scholarship in view
5.Job security (if I do LLB or M.Phil in I.R)
I am waiting for your sincere and honest replies..Stay blessed.

I think I.R is much better than LLB in view of vocational options you have outlined. I myself have done M.Sc in I.R from QAU. It is the best of all universities and will surely provide you with enough facilities to polish your skills.I.R from QAU is much better than D.S.S form the same University.

To be honest I had the same feelings 5 years back. I wanted to study IR at QAU and at the same time I was fond of doing LLb. I found that QAU does not offer LLB, therefore I opted for LLb now I am a Lawyer!

What I feel is that Doing LLb just for a degree is useless unless you have solid plans for opting this as a profession. Secondly some do LLb just to get in the Judiciary as Civil Judge or public prosecutor. There are so many Public as well as private sector jobs LLb holders can have if they do not want to become professional Lawyers.

Comparatively, IR is not a professional degree hence not better than Law. And the Possibilities you mentioned are just possibilities. Please do not build your career on possibilities.

But if you want to do both here is the way:
you can do IR regular at QAU and LLB as a private student from any college in Pindi, there are many. They get the fee and you get the degree!

Dear my VOTE is in favour of L.L.B
Its a Professional Degree as suggested by earlier. I have too done L.L.B from International Islamic University Islamabad. After studying L.L.B with due consideration you have a brighter future
1. Independent Practice as a Lawyer
2. Public Prosecutor
3. Judiciary (3 Chances)
4. PMS (3 Chances)
5. CSS (3 chances)

Besides that L.L.B is the biggest key to POLITICS also, many educated and successful lawyers are MNA's means Bars politics leads to National Politics. One thing more, you'll study International Law that is quite similar to I.R or you may say backbone of I.R. Moreover, after doing L.L.B as you said your major aim is to hit CSS so if you can't succeed, you can appear in PMS and if you fail there too (ALLAH na kare) you've opportunity to get allocated in Judiciary or as Public Prosecutor.

So, InshALLAH you'll get a decent JOB easily after doing L.L.B means you have a host of chances for Provincial Competitive Exams besides CSS.

Rest is up to you.
