There is huge difference among these three programs.
One year MBA (30 to 36 credits program) is for those who have solid prior background in business administration with a four year BBA degree. They study for only two semesters of advanced level courses with a capstone project.
One and a half year MBA can be opted by master degree holder of similar courses like economics, public and business administration. It is more or less same as of one year program. With a thesis or project choice.
Three year MBA is for those who already have a bachelor degree in other fields. In this program, they study business administration from scratch.

Master in Economics will also take two years there is no short cut for any degree but I believe MBA will help you in private sector job hunting quickly. By doing Master in Economics, you will remain limited to few private sector jobs and government jobs.
