سیارے کو کھا جانے والا ستارہ دریافت

سائنسدانوں کو خلائی دوربین ہبل سے حاصل ہونی والے تصویری شواہد سے معلوم ہوا ہے کہ سورج سے مشابہہ ایک ستارہ قریبی سیارے کو نگل رہا ہے۔

دو ہزار آٹھ میں اس سیارے کو برطانیہ کے سیاروں پر تحقیق کرنے والے ادارے وسپ نے دریافت کیا تھا

اس سے پہلے خلا نورد جانتے تھے کہ خلا میں ایسے ستارے موجود ہیں جو سیاروں کو نگل جاتے ہیں لیکن ایسا پہلی بار ہوا کہ کسی ایسے عمل کو واضح طور پر دیکھا گیا ہے۔

اگرچہ تصویر لیتے وقت یہ ستارہ ہبل دوربین سے کافی فاصلے پر تھا لیکن سائنسدانوں نے دوربین سے حاصل ہونے والی معلومات کا تجزیہ کرتے ہوئے اس عمل کا ایک تصویری خاکہ بنایا۔

سائنسدانوں کا کہنا ہے کہ وسپ_بارہ بی نامی یہ سیارہ اگلے ایک کروڑ سال میں مکمل طور پر نگل لیا جائے گا۔ یہ سیارہ اپنی مدار کےگرد چکر زمین کے مدار کےمطابق ایک اعشاریہ ایک دن میں مکمل کرتا ہے۔ یہ سیارہ پندرہ سو سینٹی گریڈ تک انتہائی گرم اور اپنے ستارے سے بہت قریب تھا۔

اتنی نزدیکی کی وجہ سے غبارے کی طرح پھولتے ہوئے سیارے کا حجم سیارہ مشتری سے تین گناہ زیادہ ہو گیا اور سیارے کا مادہ ستارے پر بہنا شروع ہوگیا۔

سائنسدانوں کی ٹیم میں شامل برطانیہ کی اوپن یونیورسٹی کی کیرول ہسویل نے اس عمل کی وضاحت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ’ ہم نے سیارے کے ارد گرد مادے کا بڑا بادل دیکھا جو سیارے سے دور جا رہا ہے اور اسے بعد میں ستارہ نگل جائے گا۔

تاہم سائنسدان اس بات کا نتیجہ نہیں نکال سکے کہ یہ بادل کیسے وجود میں آئے تھے۔ ڈاکٹر ہسویل کا کہنا ہے کہ ’ ہم نے اپنے نظام شمسی سے باہر پہلی بار ایسے کیمیائی عناصر دیکھے ہیں۔‘

واسپ نامی یہ سیارہ چھ سو نوری سال کے فاصلے پر واقع ہے۔ دو ہزار آٹھ میں اس سیارے کو برطانیہ کے سیاروں پر تحقیق کرنے والے ادارے وسپ نے دریافت کیا تھا۔
