Introvert is just a personality trait. Well you are right being an introvert has nothing to do with finding a job but here the question was about the right job. I decided not to choose less than what i deserve. Therefore despite having graduate degree and about to complete my masters, having a good network of people i decided not to do job at least for now. It is a true fact that the day when you stop bringing business for the company you are out of game. We have to do what we are told without asking questions. it is same as like building someone's else dream.

It takes courage to decide not to work for someone else because the opportunity cost involved is very high. Let me explain by having a degree and skills we can easily get a reasonable job. here reasonable means similar to what other people of your caliber in the job market are doing and start getting a constant stream of pay. In other scenario let say starting a business requires a lot of efforts but along with it you have to sacrifice that constant pay by simply doing a 9 to 5 job. But in second scenario the end result can be very charming. I wonder why business schools don't encourage students to start their own business rather than working for someone else.

It all become very easy if we know what we are passionate about. In my case i never knew exactly what i wanted to be when i grow up. I never set an intention for my self and my efforts were not directed towards any particular goal. But still i knew one thing that i wanted to improve myself and if i look back now i see i have traveled a long journey and i am much better than i was few years back.

I set an intention for the first time in my life that i will go for CSS and will nail it. i have to choose between CFA and CSS. I analysed both from all perspectives and decided to go for CSS. I do have backup plans. I hope we will have a good learning experience...
I am with you on the idea of starting up a business. We were all entrepreneurs once, when we were hunting and earning for ourselves. Then we got doomed in this job seeking spiral.

I also agree with the fact that starting at a company from the bottom sucks BIG TIME.Because they don't really care about you and you can't mix that much because they all have their groups and they all are against someone and finding footing there just sucks.

I am also sure that you have traveled a long way even from two weeks ago.You seem new and much more passionate and energetic.

I just want to say keep it up.
Hope to see more of you in the forum.
Because introverts are more likely to share things online than in person.
What are your optionals?

My optional are Business Administration, Economics and Psychology. i am still indecisive for British history and environmental science. first three are easy for me to prepare but i need to work on my English especially vocabulary, grammar and spellings.

My background of business studies will help me here but unfortunately it never worked for my professional career. May be because having finance major i can imagine how much people hiding behind the logos of multinational companies are earning profits and that is perfectly fine. I don't see anything wrong in it but it just came in my mind why some people work so hard and hardly earn their living while others got a lot more than that with minimal efforts. At one point it felt unfair but then i realized it is perfectly fine. I believe it is not only not because of hard work but it is because they take risk and they have courage. So this would be a good backup plan

Yes for sure, once i start preparation i will take part in discussions. we will get to know different perspectives of several topics and most importantly i think it is easier to remember the points which you discuss rather than reading from books. As we have to develop analytic skill it will help a lot.

Why are you not opting Indo pak history?
It will help in pakistan affairs as well.
You don't have to use tags they are really boring.
And I must say it's really nice to know you

Thumbs up

@ Nazish Hina Shafiq
Being introvert does not mean that the person is not confident or he is not up to the mark or can't survive in the society. In my personal opinion introverts are always more thoughtful and creative.

@ Miss blue
History subjects except indo-pak and regional languages are always high scoring subjects. But if you are not comfortable with history subject then try any language subject.
Anyway, environmental sciences is also a good option. its syllabus seems easy but past papers will not be available.

What's wrong in using tags? They are there for a purpose. Let members use them. It helps them in searching for desired threads.

Default Too many things

Dear it's you, not any one else who is going to decide your directions and future. First thing that I got from your post is that you want to do too many things and you are just one.... first decide what you want to do ? where you want to see yourself ? what are your strengths and weaknesses ? Take a piece of paper and describe your strengths; I too struggled during this phase but during this phase of time you have to maintain your patience, temperament and have to be a little bit decisive. If your are going for every opportunity or for every thing then you will end up with .... where you are..

Its never too late, start thinking positive, don't undermine yourself, you know when you are employed then you have more chance to get another job or offer; First start with deciding what you want to do? Do you want to stay in Finance ? I would suggest to start up with an initial job as soon as possible then look for better opportunities.

I completed my MBA in 2011, during a span of around 03 years this is my Fifth job, but what I did I never left any job until I have better opportunity. I Hope this will work for you. Now I hope soon I will be joining PAEC.

Be patience the world is open for you..!

Obviously Ma86 i will decide for my self but the purpose of this treat was to get inputs from people. It helps in making good decisions keeping in mind all the possible options.

Congrats for joining PAEC. Yes i want to do so many things actually i don't like the idea of doing job for now. As i decided to go for CSS exam. In our life we all chose to live either an ordinary or extra ordinary life. I choose the second one for myself.

Getting a good government job won't make the person rich but it gives sense of fulfillment. It is general perception that when people with the the mentality to make the system better in our country get a chance to do so they just become part of the system either they forget to do or they want to do but have to face a lot of pressure.

Working in a private organization is like being criticized for small things when you know you are capable of doing much more. For me it is like making them millionaire and in return a person gets a pay check. If we have the knowledge we should consider working for our self. No doubt in a corporate world we get a chance to learn so much and we develop people skill but if does not make a person happy and fulfilled then we should consider other options.

As far as money matters are considered we should have some education on managing personal finances. Even i don't do it well. Even a person with very low income can have millions in his/her account at the retirement age if a person invest only 20% of its monthly income and it all become possible by compounding. Trading stocks and currencies are also other options. I see people working all their life even after retirement age. I believe if a person work so many years they should have that much money to live their life without working to earn themselves but that should be the time to back to the society.

So career is not just about earning money. We need to make decisions for which we won't regret later on in our lives. We won't regret that we never tried, or never put enough efforts.

Maan Chaudhary i will consider other subjects i hope i will choose wisely...

Last Island i thought tags are useless, i don't know much about posting threads on this forum, i will spare some time to see how to quote messages while replaying
