I never had such questions in my mind and I dont know how to answer these. All I know is that I loved and I love Literature and I studied with all my heart and enjoyed it.

Read the text. Its very very important. Understand it according to the era and circumstances in which it was written. Characteristics of every era must be on your fingertips. Enjoy it. Memorize and analyze it. You cannot simply cram the notes and write. You must have the ability to critically analyze and attempt the question as demanded. Get a firm grasp on literary terms and poetic syllables and meters.
