Wish Maker, Your way of presentation is good. I like this style, I had a job in a private tv channel as a host in a family show, I had a discussion with a prominent scholar, She had suggested me to go with your own style and emotions in your essay or any subject according to its needs. And suggested me to write as much as you can, express your emotions, suspense, philosophy, means dramatic style. You are going well, keep it up.....
Thanks....... |

Envisaging a bright future for Pakistan
By: Wish Maker The bad thing about aspiring for a competitive exam here in Pakistan is that one has to do so many things which otherwise he would never like to do. For an instance, at least, you need to be or pretend to be aware of every single move in the national and international political arena of the country. You also need to keep a close eye on the socio-economic challenges faced by your country and in turn, come up with possible solutions. Above all, you will only be tolerated if you portray a picture that shows an all bright future of the country. Despite of the fact, the realities at the ground level are always in stark contrast. This is the shortest possible way of establishing yourself as a forward looking, optimistic and a loyal son of the soil. Through this article, I would certainly like to see this tag shining on my chest. Recently, I have seen a lot of discussions on different forums about the future of Pakistan. It has become quite a buzz word, believe it or not. It is everywhere; face book, CSS forum, blogs, radio and TV talk shows, conferences, workshops you name any. The participants and the topics might not be the same but what is common in all these debates is that everybody seems deeply concerned about the current sorry state of affairs in the country and wants to see a change- a better Pakistan. This awakening among the politically sensitized youth as to how to make the future of Pakistan bright must be seen as a welcome gesture. No ailment as it goes is cured until the right medicine is suggested. In the cure process to point out what causes the disease is more important than the disease itself. Similarly, the future of Pakistan can be made bright only if we could first point out the factors which are creating a hindrance on our way to a bright future and a cure for these factors. At the moment, Underperforming education system, a visionless mob of youth, energy crisis, poor agricultural sector and leadership crisis are the most important factors which are keeping the country away from the road that leads to a bright future. What is required here is to convert all the negatives into positives. To do this first of all, we are to focus on the most dangerous anomaly- the education sector. Currently, Pakistan is crippled by an underperforming education system. We have to convert it into robust education system by allocating 6% of our GDP than the existing 2%. Other measures include improvement in infrastructure, change in syllabus and establishment of national examination system. To march towards a bright future and have a respectable place in the global knowledge economy of the 21st century, Pakistan will critically have to look into its entire education system. Pakistan is one of the few countries which are blessed with a huge bulk of youth population. If one is to believe in the reports by the World Bank, the numbers stand at 60 to 65% of the total population. Every endeavor must be made to convert this population into an asset than a liability. To reap dividends from it, the youth must be equipped with the weapon of education. It will certainly go a long way in achieving a bright future for Pakistan. In spite of its abundant natural resources, Pakistan is marred by an energy crisis. It is this power crisis that threatens the future of Pakistan more than anything. The current energy crisis has stunted the economic growth of the country. It has disturbed the peace and order of the country as reflected in violent public protests against the long power shortages. However, Pakistan can deal with it by investing in energy for long term planning and efficiently using its alternative resources like wind, solar, nuclear and coal. The last mentioned has the capacity to generate 10, 0000 MW for more than 200 years. The turnaround in the energy sector will definitely pave a road towards a bright future of Pakistan. Among others, land reforms, corporate farming and change in political leadership will undoubtedly; help Pakistan to move towards a bright future. Reportedly, there are 300 families in the land of the pure that hold 45 % of the total cultivated land of the country. An estimated, 4.7 million families comprising around 33 million people are absolutely landless across Pakistan. If land reforms are initiated on the pattern of Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and our next door neighbor India, it will boost up the economic growth, promote political stability, and fight out poverty through gross root empowerment which in turn will lead to a bright future for Pakistan. Making the long story short, Pakistan has a very bright future. A prosperous, peaceful and economically stable Pakistan is not a distant dream any more. It exists. It is real. What is required is the complete implementation of the above given prescription for ailing organs of the country on emergency basis. Those who deny the fact, they need to change their lenses.

The Broken Wings- A Review
By: Wish Maker He was only a youth of eighteen when love opened his eyes with its magic rays and touched his soul with its fiery fingers. Selma karamy, the Lebanese beauty was the lady who awakened his soul with her ultimate beauty. With smiles on their faces, drinking from each other’s eyes the wine of high affection, holding each other’s hands, they walked through the garden of love where every day passed like a dream and every night like a wedding night. They had decided never to part but destiny had other plans for them. The guy belonged to a lower middle class family and the girl was the only daughter of a wealthy old man. In this story, unlike many Bollywood movies, the father of the girl Farris Karamy directly did not become a wall between the boy and the girl but his wealth and weak conviction to stand against the existing religio-social pressure did. The story is set in wake of the early 20th century when church was very strong in Christian communities. Farris Karamy was one of those people who come in this world and leave it without hurting anybody. But such people are the most miserable people in this world for they are likely to be exploited by crooks. Sometimes, the wealth of the parents proves fatal for their children as it happened in case of Selma Karamy. It became the sole reason of her lifelong misery- the misery of losing her beloved. The one who was a part of her spirit. The one who had loved her like a school boy. The wealth and high social status of Farris Karamy made the Bishop of the church to send the marriage proposal of his nephew. The Bishop had an eye on the riches and property of Farris karamy. He knew well that the old man would expire soon and what else could have been proved a short cut to grab all the possessions of the old man than to get his nephew married with old man’s daughter. Thus, old Farris was called for at the Bishop’s mansion but only to fix the marriage date of Selma and Bishop’s nephew! In spite of the naked fact that Bishop and his nephew were filthy, degenerated, greedy and shameless drinkers but they had hidden themselves in the shadow of religion. In spite of the cruel reality that Mansur Bay the Bishop’s nephew, was a serial rapist and never a good match for Selama- the pure virgin and manifestation of divine beauty. Farris Karamy could do nothing but only to marry her daughter off with Mansur Bay. Though, Farris Karamy knew very well that her daughter love someone else yet he could not do anything to make her happy. The old man was too weak to carry the burden of pains and sufferings of her daughter. He died soon after the marriage. The Bishop took control of all the possessions of Farris Karamy and thus got what he wanted. We are told in this very personal auto-biography that though Selma got married to a man not of her choice yet she kept on meeting with her first and last love- Khalil Gibran. However, she died five years after her marriage. For the answers to the questions like did the actual lover of the girl take a stand against this injustice inflicted by the Bishop and why did Farris karamy the father of the girl not refuse the to give the hand of her daughter to the Bishop when he was a man of wealth and repute. He could have easily done it. And above all, what made these love birds (Gibran & Selma) not to fly to some other country to escape from the cage of Bishop ,you have to read this classic on your own. In the end, I would say that the story is real and very simple. Read it for Gibran’s beautiful description. It’s indeed a feast for readers. It’s very short about 45 pages so one can read it in one sitting. The more you read, the more you love it. It’s just awesome. And yes, it has no substitute if you are looking for a gift for your girl friend. I have tried it. Lols! Have a great read!

Rumor Factory &CSS 2012 Result!
Warning!!! This is a work of fiction. Do not take it seriously. The views expressed by the writer are his own and do not reflect the forum policies. It is a stair on FPSC. Read it only if you have nothing else to do. The moderators are requested to show some patience. Thank you! Wish Maker The momentous moment has arrived. No more wait. No more panic. A press conference has been called by the Federal Public Service Commission‘s Public Relations wing. Soon the screens of government and private news networks will be struck with news stories from a key department of the federal government. The much awaited scoop will go on air in a flash of moments. This is for the first time in the history of not less than forty five years of FPSC that such hype has been generated about CSS 2012 result. The candidates finally can take a sigh of solace if they could at all! They may also take three deep breaths to release tension. Some of the poor folks already have turned their mobile phones off as a pre-cautionary measure to avoid bombardment of tacky questions from near and dear ones about the result. Now this is too much. Seriously. Meanwhile, the heat at FPSC conference room can also be felt. A bald man in his late sixties wearing HSY black suite and Red Italian shoes enters the long entrance that leads to the conference room .He is the Hit Man of FPSC. He is the Chairman. He starts walking towards the dais where the media guys have assembled. On reaching the dais, our hero is warmly welcomed by the journalists. He unfolds the bundle of some white a 4 size sheets that he had held in his right hand firmly. He mounts his Armani golden framed goggles on his weak but cunning eyes, show cases his Titan watch while setting his red tie knot with left hand and poses for the photo graphers. Finally, he makes his ears stand up and utters, “Gentlemen! It’s indeed a matter of great privilege and honor for me to announce that finally, FPSC has decided not to keep the aspirants tails on fire any more. Six months is a long time. The candidates have suffered and suffered hard. The intention was never so. It was only due to some unavoidable circumstances that it took longer time to announce the written result than scheduled date. We are sorry for that. I would like to take this opportunity to clear that what really caused delay in results. Actually, some of the papers went misplace. Later on, it was discovered that they were stolen by a pet dog, kept for security purpose. However, the dog had some other plans, obviously, not noble. He had a great crush on a Russian bitch next door. The dog was so much taken by her beauty that he decided to send her a love letter. So, to impress that gorgeous bitch what else could have been a better option than to write her a love letter in English? But only trouble was that this dog of ours was a Paki dog, like half of the illiterate population, the poor creature too was illiterate (Chita un Parh). That’s why he went for a short cut. What a mean dog! ( Yani aik tu kutta. Oper se kameena. Goia bahut he kuta.) And what else could have served his purpose well than papers attempted in English? Probably, it made him to steal the papers, breaching the trust of his master. That’s why, perhaps, it is said that love is blind and everything is fair in love and war. Above all, the misfortune did not end here. The situation became more complicated when the bitch refused to return the letters (papers). Making the long story short, it was only after much negotiation, compromises and strenuous efforts that our paper checker along with other think tanks of the Commission succeeded in recovering the papers back. Similarly, there were some other “genuine reasons” of the same kind that caused delay in written results. Anyway, without increasing your anxiety further, let me announce the result. Fifteen thousand candidates appeared in 2012 CSS examination conducted in the month of February. Five hundred and twenty two students in all have passed the written part of the examination. Of them, Two hundred and sixty five are female candidates. The successful candidates will be able to see their names in black and white on our web site (www.fpsc.gov.pk) within a couple of hours. The IT wing of the FPSC already has been ordered to upload the result. However, the Detailed Mark Sheets (DMSs) of the unsuccessful candidates will be made available after a week or so.” The Chairman had hardly started to answer the question about the Interview schedule and number of seats posed by one of the journalists when I was kicked on my back hard by one of my roommates. I got up rubbing my eyes. They were talking about the rumor factory that is in full swing via SMSs on cell phones and back to back posts on CSS Forum about the much awaited CSS 2012 result!
