Default An interesting question

Why do we say people 'fall in love' why not 'rise in love'?? Anyone, please.

That's my question. Once in love one desires to dig it deep, involves himself/herself more in it and acquires more affection for it so can't we say he actually is 'rising in love'?

True love is always deep and one can only fall in depth. For rising one needs height

because Love is all about falling alternatively it refers that you have to give everything in Love, no gain no rise. Love requires sacrifice, compromise, patience and and endless wait. These all things make you fall not rise

Fall refers to the fall of curtain on the eyes of those who love and thus lover becomes blind while he loves. So it is believed that love is blind.

Ye he waja hy k muhib ko mehboob me koe kami ya khami nazar nahe aati, agar nazar aae bhe to mehsoos nahe hoti, mehsoos bhe ho to nagawar nahe guzarti.

Such fall of curtain plays the play.

"Falling in love" is an idiomatic phrase. What I feel is that it has nothing to do with the literal meaning of "falling" or "rising". It just means "to begin to love someone" or "to be in love with someone". While using idiomatic phrases you don't look out for "word to word" meanings of the words used. Just the way, you say "dance around something" which means "not coming to the point" or "beating about the bush". You don't actually start dancing in response to a question or a situation. Hope it clarifies my point.

Dear what you have mentioned is,I believe, known to almost everyone here.We know that it's an idiomatic expression and can't be taken word for word to arrive on its literal meaning.

Reason behind the invitation of comments is to make it ineresting by giving creative, comic, aesthetic and logical touch.

Hope,it's no more a moot point now!!
