Iqra Zaki is on a distinguished road
Default Young Bureaucrats Society

Hello all CSS Forum members,

I am a student of Public Administration, University of Karachi and here representing my department. Being students of Public Administration, joining civil service is the dream of nearly all the students of our department and many of us have opted for this faculty just to polish administrative skills and acquire more knowledge regarding bureaucracy. Me and my class fellows are forming an official society with the consent of our department for the CSS aspirants of our department, which we decided to name as Young Bureaucrats Society. In future, we are planning to spread its roots all over Pakistan, IN SHA ALLAH. I assume it will be first of its kind concrete organization for the students who are passionate about civil services and have always wanted to be bureaucrats. Main aims and objectives of our society are:

• To provide platform for the Civil Service aspirants present anywhere in world
• To re-establish the prestige of institution of bureaucracy among the young generation.
• To engage students in such activities to enhance their skills and forte as bureaucrats.
• To act as a forum for the interaction amongst the aspirants and in-service bureaucrats.
• To critically analyze the functional bureaucracy and presenting cogent and dialectical debates for reforms.

The purpose of mentioning this here is that css forum is the largest virtual communicating forum for css aspirants all over Pakistan and we want all of its members to be a part of this initiative. We regard all the fresh CSPs, senior officers and members and all the struggling candidates as member of this society and you all are always welcome rather appreciated to join the future activities of the society.

Further I want opinions from you all on this initiative AND suggestions or any kind of feedback for the activities of society and ts successful running.

I request the permission of moderators if I can make an official separate thread for this society soon after its launching, which is being held on 28th november.
I'll soon post the launching details and hierarchical structure of YBS, we named as the Cabinet.

I'll be grateful for your responses.

Thankyou.

Terrible idea.

1. Our country does not need bureaucrats, it needs entrepreneurs. Please, make an entrepreneur society, that would be much more effective.

2. Such societies are a waste of time.

Hello Iqra Zaki. Bureaucrat is a negative word, Young Civil Servants Society would be a better name. You wouldn't believe me but such societies are a waste of time, you'd be spending too much time managing the society than studying for the exam. This is coming from the guy who was part of many societies in his university.
Let me go through your aims and objectives one by one:
1- Aspirants don't require another platform especially a formal one. They already got this forum, quite a lot of facebook pages, academies, informal help from teachers, commoners etc. and most of all their books. Aspirants need to study books, practice exams and learn English.
2- Prestige is already quite high, judging from the number of applications FPSC receive for CSS.
3- Once you pass the exam, there is a Training program, isn't that enough? And I doubt such societies will be able to ENHANCE any skills of bureaucracy.
4- No comments
5- You need a Young Bureaucrats Society to do that?

Seriously, spend your time studying relevant material for exams than indulge in such activities. Once you pass the exam you'll have enough time for socializing and stuff. If you're in a university, you have plenty of time for such things but for an aspirant, that time is better spent with a book.

@ Iqra

I have talked to the admin about it. He said that CSS Forum serves the very purpose and off-forum activities should be promoted off forum.

Here for the first time i agree with Mr. Daniyal Ahmed. Instead of making such societies you should go for an Entrepreneur Society which is nowadays the need of our country.
Bureaucratic society would be a waste of time. For example, if your society provided some kind of help in grooming youngsters to achieve bureaucratic skills, let say your society trained 50,000 youngsters, so what? still only 200 to 250 would join the civil services and rest will go away with shattered dreams and thinking that we have wasted our time and now what we have to do with such bureaucratic skills we acquired. So rather than promoting bureaucracy because of mere 200 seats a year, it would be better to promote entrepreneurship which will definitely help the country counter the crises we are suffering.
Regards.

The world needs entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are engines of progress and prosperity. Further, being an entrepreneur does not require any "exam". All it requires is the ability to gather resource, channelize that resource and make a productive living. Anyone can be an entrepreneur, that's how US made progress. Bureaucracy is dwindling in all parts of the globe, as bureaucrats are epitome of red tape and creating obstacles. A young entrepreneur society, would be much more effective. Further, entrepreneurship ideas can be implemented in all spheres of life.
