Yeh baad-o-baraan ke Silsilay hain
Jo dil key taron ko chhairtay hain
Aur in ki awaz mere kaanon main rass gholti hai
Aur iss ki raftaar mujh main ehsaas-e-barq kholti hai
Zehen main jaise tumhare payal ki jhankar bolti
Nazar tumhare wajood-e-gul ko tamam atraaf dhundti hai
Magar kahin bhi na paa saki hai

Yeh baad-o-baraan ke Silsilay hain
Haseen yaadon ke aainey hain
Yeh un lamhon ko dhundtey hain
Keh jab akaila main reh gaya tha
Aur dil ke toofan-e-baad-o-baaran ko rokta tha
Magar na dil ko, na aansuon ko main rok pata tha

Yeh baad-o-baraan ke Silsilay hain
Haseen yaadon ke aainey hain
Yeh un lamhon ko dhundtey hain
Keh jab tum haathon main haath de kar
Aur bheegi palkon ko saaf kar ke
Yeh mujh se kehti theen ke "Thairo"
Abhi munasib nahin hai jana
Rukey jo baarish to tab hi jana

Yeh baad-o-baraan ke Silsilay hain
Jo mujh se bilkul bhi aashna nahin hain
Tumhari khatir hi main nay hoonton ko see liya tha
Aur apni tabiyyat ko main nay yeksar badal diya tha
Aur apne lehjay ko itna dheema bana liya tha
Keh kahin meri zara si laghzish
Tumhare dil pe garaan na guzray

Yeh baad-o-baraan ke Silsilay hain
Jo mere farda key faislon ko
Qavi banate hi ja rahay hain
Aur meri aankhon ki roshni ko
Aur mere mazboot hauslon ko
Badha rahay hain
Agar tumhara yeh saath hoga to dekhna tum
Main apne andar tumhari taaqat se
Sari duniya ko jeet lunga
