Wo dard ab kahaan jisy jii chahata bhii ho

Yai kyia ke roz ek saa Gam ek sii Ummeed
Iss ranj-e-bekhumaar kii ab intuha bhii ho

Yai kyia ke ek taur sai guzarey tamaam umar
Jii chahata hai ab koi terey sivaa bhii ho

Tutey kabhi to Khwab-e-shab-o-roz kaa tilism
Itaney hujoom mai koi chehara nayaa bhii ho

Deevangi-e-shauq ko yai dhun hai in dino.n
Ghar bhii ho aur bai-dar-o-deewar saa bhii ho

Juz dil koi makaan nahin dahar mai jaha.n
Rahzan kaa khauf bhii na rahey dar khulaa bhii ho

Har zarra ek mahamil-e-ibrat hai dasht kaa
Lakin kisey dikhau.N koi dekhata bhii ho

Har shay pukarati hai pas-e-pardaa-e-sakoot
Lakin kisey sunau.N koi ham-nava bhii ho

Fursat mai sun shaguftagi-e-Gunchaa kii sadaa
Yai wo sukhan nahin jo kisii ne kahaa bhii ho
