Dil pe zakhm khaate hain, Jaan se guzarte hain
Jurm sirf itna hai Unko pyar karte hain!

Aitbar barhta hai aur bhi muhabbat ka
Jab woh ajnabi ban kar pas se guzarte hain

Unki anjuman bhi hai, taar bhi rasam bhi hai
Dekhna hai deewane ab kahan theherte hain

Unke ik taghaluf se toot-te hain dil kitne
Unki ik tawajja se kitne zakhm bharte hain

Jo pale'n hain zulmat mein kya seher ko pehchanein
Teergi ke shedai roshni se dartey hain

Lakh woh gurezan hon, Lakh woh dushmane' jaan hon
Dil ko kya karein sahib, hum un hi pe marte hain!

Ab ye hogaa shaayad apanii aag men Khud jal jaayenge
tum se duur bahut rah kar bhii kyaa paayaa kyaa paayenge

dukh bhii sachche sukh bhii sachche phir bhii terii chaahat men
ham ne kitane dhoke khaaye kitane dhoke khaayenge

aql pe ham ko naaz bahut thaa lekin ye kab sochaa thaa
ishq ke haathon ye bhii hogaa log hamen samajhaayenge


ham sy aablaa-pa jab tanhaa ghabaraayenge sahraa men
raaste sab tere hii ghar kii jaanib ko mur jaayenge

aaNkhon se ojhal honaa kyaa dil se ojhal honaa hai
mujh se chhuT kar bhii ahal-e-Gam kyaa tujh se chhuT jaayenge ...

kabhii jab muddatoN ke baad us ka saaamna hoga,
sivaaye paas-e-aadaab-e-takalluf aur kya hoga?!

hamaare shauq ke aasuuda-o-Khush_haal hone tak,
tumhaare aariz-o-gesu ka sauda ho chuka hoga!

haNsii aatii hai mujh ko masHalit ke in taqaazoN par,
k ab ik ajnabi ban kar use pehchaan_na hoga!

daliiloN se dava ka kaam lena saKht mushkil hai,
magar is gham kii Khaatir yeh hunar bhii siikhna hoga!

hai nisf-e-shab, voh diivaana abhii tak ghar nahiiN aaya,
kisi se chaaNdni raatoN ka qissah ChhiR gaya hoga!!!!
