Shaam-e-gham ke ujaar sehra mein
Jal bujhay, bujh ke raakh ho jaaye
Is se pehlay ke chahatoon ka yaqeen
Waahmon ke bhanwar mein kho jaaye

Iss se pehlay ke chaand ka jhoomar!
Dard ki jheel mein utar jaaye
Aur khwahish ki chandni ka ghubaar
Waqt ki aankh mein bikhar jaaye

Is se pehlay ke apne dil ki rugain
Ik ik ker ke toot'ti jayein
Aur tanaabein gulaab khwaabon ki
Apne haathon se chhoot'ti jayein

Is se pehlay ke ghair le mujh ko
Her taraf se jaloos-e-ruswaai
Qurbatoon ke nishaan mita dale
Hijr ke zalzaloon ki angraai

Ay meri be'suhaag tanhaai
Mujh se pursa le apne pyaaron ka
Bujhtay ashkon ke un sitaaron ka
Jo her ik ajnabi ke rastay mein
Noor ki chaadrein bichhaatay thay
Jo kisi subh'zaad ki dhun mein
Raat bhar roshni lutaatay thay

Ay meri be'suhaag tanhaai!
Aa mere paas, mujh se pursa le
Un gulaabon ka un suhaabon ka
Habs ki rut mein jo barastay thay
Jin ke pal bhar ke lams ki khatir
Mausamon ke badan tarastay thay

Ay meri be'suhaag tanhaai!
Is se pehlay ke saans thak jaaye
Shoq doonday nai guzargaahein
Is se pehlay ke be'nishaan thehray
Hasrat-e qurb ki sabhi raahein
Meri gardan mein daal de baanhein!!!!

Juz mere kon tuj ko chahay ga
Mein bhi teri tarah akela hoon
Aankh mein tishnagi ka sehra hai
Dil mein paataal ki si gehraai
Aur kia ho reh-e-shanaasaai
