Zindagi guzra hua khwaab nazar aati hai
Kia bhula Daala hai, kia yaad raha, yaad nahiN

Intezaar iska tha muddat se, yahi yaad hai bas
Kiska paighaam ye layee hai hawa yaad nahiN

Ye khabar hai ke ye manoos si khushboo hai magar
Kaisay manoos hai, ye baat zara yaad nahiN

Shiddat-e-dard ne kuch hosh gaNwaaye aisay
Koyee dukh, zakhm koyee, koyee dawa yaad nahiN

Sub'h ko DhoonDe gi ye ja ke kahaaN jaa-e-panaah
Apna anjaam shab-e-taar ko kia yaad nahiN

Jaisay kho jata hai chup chaap fizaaoN maiN Saraab
Apna qissa bhi tha paani pe likha, yaad nahiN ....
