Manzil-e-dost hay kia kon-e-makan se agay?
jis se poocho wohi kehta hay, yahan se agay,

Ehl-e-Dil kartay rahay Ehl-e-Hawas se behas,
Baat barhti hi nahi Sood-o-Zayan se agay,

ab jo dekha to kayi aabla'pa bethay hain,
ham k pichay thay boht, hamsafar se agay,

ham ne us hadd se kia apne safar ka aaghaz,
parr farishton k bhi jaltay hain jahan se agay,

kaisay batlayein k niaz-e-zamana kia hay,
kis ko dunya nazar ati hay yahan se agay,

Nahi aisa bhi k jab chaha ghazal keh dali,
Sher ki bat hay kuch tab-e-Rawan se agay,

Apne hissay ki pila dete hain auron ko Faraz,
Kab ye dastoor tha ham tashna labaan se agay.
