Default کھوٹا ہوتے ہوئے بھی کھرا ہوں
اپنی نسبت سے میں کچھ نہیں ہوں، اس کرم کی بدولت بڑا ہوں
اُن کے ٹکڑوں سے اعزاز پاکر ، تاجداروں کی صف میں*کھڑا ہوں

اس کرم کو مگر کیا کہو گے، میں نے مانا میں سب سے برا ہوں
جو بروں کو سمیٹے ہوئے ہیں، اُن کے قدموں میں میں بھی پڑا ہوں

دیکھنے والو مجھ کو نہ دیکھو، دیکھنا ہے اگر تو یہ دیکھو
کس کے دامن سے وابستہ ہوں میں، کون والی ہے ، کس کا گدا ہوں

یا نبی ! اپنے غم کی کہانی ، کہہ سکوں گا نہ اپنی زبانی
بِن کہے ہی میری لاج رکھ لو ، میں سسکتی ہوئی التجا ہوں

دیکھتا ہوں جب انکی عطائیں، بھول جاتا ہوں اپنی خطائیں
سرندامت سے اٹھتا نہیں ہے، جب میں اپنی طرف دیکھتا ہوں

شافعِ مُذنباں کے کرم نے، لاج رکھ لی میرے کھوٹے پن کی
نسبتوں کا کرم ہے کہ خالد ، کھوٹا ہوتے ہوئے بھی کھرا ہوں
