I read some articles on these posts. They were first announced in 2012 by FBR itself because the scale of these posts was BPS-14 at that time. Employees on these posts had been demanding promotions in grades which were finally accepted and all these posts were allotted BPS-16. All employees promoted from BPS-14 to 16 have had experience of 25 to 33 years and most of them are planned to retire in 2017. So FBR canceled that announcement because it was now in the jurisdiction of FPSC to recruit and fulfill these posts. So ultimately after 2 years FPSC announced these posts again.

Promotion policy of FBR is peculiar, one preventive officer or inspector customs has to be promoted several times but his/her grade will be still BPS-16 and these promotions have no privileges. All these posts are BPS-16
4. Superintendent of Customs/ Superintendent of Intelligence & Investigation/ Superintendent of Preventive Services/ Principal Appraiser
3. Deputy Superintendent of Customs/ Senior Intelligence Officer/ Inspector Preventive Services/ Appraising officer
2. Inspector of Customs/ Intelligence Officer/Senior Preventive Officer / Examining Officer
1. Preventive Officer
So a preventive officer or inspector custom has to be promoted several time but he/she will still be in BPS-16.

Assistant collector BPS-17 and above officers to BPS-22 are CSP and they come through CSS.

There may be some rumors in this piece of information, so if someone has authentic information, about the procedure of promotions and grades of these posts, may share it here because no one would want to be in BPS-16 even after 15 years.

Although it is no harm in asking, but everything is clear crystal. There is no ambiguity about course, test pattern and test date. However I am posting again the course for the said post.
Test Specification

Objective Type Test (MCQ)

Part-I
English = 20 marks including Grammar Usage, Sentence Structuring

Part-II
General Intelligence
Test = 80 marks including
Basic Arithmetic,
Current Affairs,
Pakistan Affairs & Islamic Studies
Everyday/General Science
Note : (Equal weight-age for each topic at Part-II)
For details visit:

http://www.fpsc.gov.pk/icms/user/page.php?page_id=279

The recommended books include in this case are:
1. Carvan General Knowledge by Ch. Najib Ahmed
2. Model Past Papers by Advanced Publishers

These two books cover all the syllabus.

Now how to prepare , Its all about your planning and managing things.
For English you must prepare Vocabulary (Synonyms and Antonyms) as well keeping in view the previous test pattern of FPSC.
I hope everything is clear now. Please avoid asking again and again. Concentrate on your preparation and Good Luck !

P.S: 1. FPSC will intimate everyone via sms sooner or later and do not worry if you got a single sms. It's all fine.
2. Save your Treasury Slip for the test day.
3. If you have submitted your application successfully and got a Tracking ID, you will be allowed to sit in the test. Do not worry about petty things.
4. Just concentrate on the test syllabus now. For other things like Medical Certificate, MS Office Certificate and else everything including Medical/Physical Test you will get plenty of time to settle your issues.
dear can you mention author and exact title of model paper book?as there are two books in market one tiltled ppsc model papers and second is fpsc model papers by imtiaz shahid.
it will be very helpful
