Recently a honorable member who has been selected for inspector fbr told that salary will be some 45k after double increment in basic but it will be done after 6 months. Will valuation officer get more than inspector inland revenue.

Yeah... I have seen that calculations. However, I have different opinion. I am making it simple by stating that a friend of mine, who is recently appointed in BS-16, in a federal department is drawing (after deductions and exclusion of all special allowance admissible to him on account of his department), little more than 40K per month. Now FBR has some incentives and lucrative allowances for its officials. Performance allowance equal to one basic will be PKR 15880 and special fixed allowance for BS-16 is PKR 10K per month. I dont know about the ceiling allowance, however, it is safe to estimate that the initial salary would be around 50K or more (excluding ceiling and performance allowance).

Note: Fresh recruitments to FBR by FPSC will be governed by the Civil Servant Act of 1973 and will be gazetted officers of class II, whereas the existing employees in the same or below cadre are not under the same. therefore, even the employees of the FBR are unable to assess the exact figure of initial salary. This is just my estimate however, actual figure of salary may vary.

Last part of my question was about comparison of Inspector Fbr and Appraiser custom. Please..

First of all both are FBR jobs but of separate wings. Both have different nature of work. IIR is an active field job, its not like the early version of Income Tax inspector, But generally everyone will advise you to join appraisers.

Due my experience and understanding of ground realities... IMO, Appraisers is better than IIR. However, it depends on one's nature and aptitude.

first of all congratulations to you for your brilliant achievement. Can you please explain what is meant by gazetted officers and that too of grade II ? Will civil services rules be applicable to AVO's , Preventive officers & inspector customs? How do you see their promotional prospects ??

Customs job is way better than Inland Revenue service. This is according to my relative who is DCIR and often refers to customs as Royal Service.

Congrets all successful fellows. Unfortunetly i am not in the list. Last night i was really depressed, still im because i was expecting positive result. Any way we cannot change our fortune.
By the way is there any chance of another advertising of a &v officer posts in near future just like inspector IR new posts are advertised. Brother N is best and other seniors are requested to share their views in this regard.
