Prepare for SBOT
The most ardous and tricky task while solving basic arithmatic qtnz is to understand statement and make equation. The equation once made after reading statement, almost 90% correct answer is solicited. All candidate appearing in SBOT (15th batch) can make the practice of followings and solver r requested to explain the answers with equations and even provide the solution where reverse calculation is required so that NALAYIQ man like me can enhance the concept to solve such tricky qtnz.

I am shareing some solns
Q1 8*9.30 per kg + 8* x =15*10 per kg x=10.8 Q2 I made a triangle and did by just a basic technoque u can make a triangel of 1 inc side on each corner of 3 inch triange and make three layer first will contain 1 and second wil 3 and third will contain 6 triangles Q3 for A work/8 for B work3/8 for C work5/8 work = time * (work/8 + work3/8 + work/8) work will cancel out and time will be 8/9 using sime arithmatc Q4 Mr.Brown can paint a house in 6 days while Mr.Black would take 8 days and Mr.Blue 12 days. After 8 days Mr.Brown goes on vacation and Mr. Black begins to work for a period of 6 days. How many days will it take Mr.Blue to complete the contract? Mr.Brown 8/6 = 1.333 house means one and .333 second house Mr.Black 6/8= .75 means second house so .08333 third house house remaining third house 1-.08333=.91667 Mr.Blue time/12=.91667 time =11 Q8 THIS IS simple as 100 for 35 days will do same work and additional 100 willbe required for 5 days so for 40 days additional 5 days will be required for fixed 100 workers Q10 i did this by not an appropriate way (1/6 + 1/4 + 1/6 + 1/4 + 1/6) = 1 so 5 hrs required Q12 3 two for 4 side and one for top and bottom Q12 4.5 gallon =(x+1/4x) + x (x for return) x= 2 gallon Q14 a has 8km lead so 8km+4kmph*time = sum(n+1) 8kmph+ 4*8 =1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 36 km both have covered same distance so 8 hrs for B and 9pm so closeest ans is 9:48pm Q15 (1/20 + 1/ 30 - 1/15) x=1 so x= 60 for three 3*x =180 min and closest answre is 167min Q18 make one stationay and caluate time for 1000m for one do same for other train and take the time difference my ans is 40 and closest to 48 Q19 (5/8)/(8/5) *100 = 256% Q20 do combination 10!/((10-6)!(6!)) * (8!)/(8-5)! (5!) ans is 11760 if u anyone find any problem he can ask

@fahad khan
Fahad yar, althrough u hv made equation, but without further explanation/elaboration of equation u hv written direct answers. Your equation does not provide the writen answer in sum qtnz or perhaps im not getting it rite. Look as below and make me understand:- Quote:
74.4 + 8x = 150 8x=150-74.4 x=75.6/8= 9.45 (wrong ansr accrding to equation) Quote:

Q1
i made mistake while writing equation correct is 8*9.30 per kg + 7* x =15*10 per kg 8 is in kg and multiply by 9.3 gives price for that sample 7 kg multiplied by its price/kg (which is unknowm) gives its price adding it gives total price which should be equal to price of mixture which is 7+8=15 kg and multiplied by 10 per kg to give its price so x=10.8 Q3 work rate is work/time time for A 8 for A work/8 this is work rate of A time for B 8/3 for B work3/8 this is work rate of B time for C 8/5 for C work5/8 this is work rate of C so if they work together work rate would add up and multiply by time give sthe work so work = time * (work/8 + work3/8 + work5/8) work = time*work*(1/8 + 3/8 + 5/8) work will cancel out and time will be 8/9 using some arithmetic time = 1 / ( 1/8 + 3/8 + 5/8 ) time = 1/ ( (1 + 3 + 5) / 8 ) time=8/9 Q14 they will meet when they will cover same distance so A covers distance from 11 am to 1pm when Bstarts 4km/h * 2(hr) = 8km so A has 8km lead so i have Add 8km to A A B 8km+4kmph*time = sum(time+1)km/hr *1hr they will equal when time is 8 hr B is changing speed so each hr it covers 1km more distance then previous one A(8hr) B(8hr) 8kmph+ 4*8 = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 1km during first hr 2km during second hr so on... 8km during 8th hr 36 km both have covered same distance so 8 hrs for B and 9pm so closest ans is 9:48pm Q18 make one stationary and caluate time for 1000m for one then do same for second (1000m because 500m when it comes equal and 500m when end of one cross the second) time for slow train is 1000m/45(km/hr)=0.02222 hr = 0.02222*60*60 = 80sec time for fast is 1000m/30(km/hr)=0.0333 hr = 0.03333*60*60 = 120sec and take the time difference my ans is 120-80=40 and closest to 48 as difference because both are moving in opp direction and time of crossing will reduce
