You will have to sign a surety bond worth 45 k at the time of joining. If you resign within 5 years you will pay that amount to execute the bond. As per my information one is allowed one NOC in two years if applying through proper channel. Forum members already serving in ASF are requested to correct me if necessary.

Regards!

I am serving as Dy.Ad. Recently the policy regarding NOC has changed. Now we can get numerous NOCs but only for CSS and other armed forces. We can't apply in other departments before completing 5 years tenure. Moreover, rumors are in air that the rank of Dy.ad is going to be extinct and the existing officers will be promoted to ADs. But still I suggest you not to leave your current job. Because you can't get status of a real officer in ASF. Our ranks on shoulders are just show pieces.

Najeeb bhai thanks for your input. We all need guidance from currently serving ASF officers.
Why do you say that the ranks on shoulders are just show pieces and don't carry any meaning?

Is the living accommodation in ASF Academy good or bad. Because I heard that there are not even beds to sleep on? And please also tell about condition of bathrooms?

What is condition of the food provided in ASF Mess?

Living condition is miserable, barracks are shared by 12 to 16 people. barrack is a large empty room, no cupboards, no attach bath. trainees are advised to bring their own boxes to keep their stationary safe. a ragtag charpaee is given to trainees which is broken from 3 or 4 places. trust me, the most dejected and helpless department of Pakistan.
Condition of overall academy is wretched, no classes, trainees have to sit on muddy ground to attend their lectures. It will remind you a remote primary school of FATA where kids use to sit on ground to attend their class.
And job structure and nature is also pathetic. Only those candidates should join this service who has no aims and ambitions, as after joining this job very little time for study. and NOC/Departmental certificate is another big issue there, Only one NOC in two years.
I know very few people who attained a higher post in some other department while while serving in ASF. The rate of resignation is highest in this department.
In our batch of inspectors OBASIC-17, twenty six candidates were recommended by FPSC, only fourteen of them passed out. Seven trainees resigned during training including me, the rest did not bother to join.
I resigned and takes priority to be a jobless rather then serving this department, because i was sure of my abilities.
I have a job now, a very good one, but still searching for the best.
Regards.

imbindas is absolutely right, I too heppend to be dy.ad there, but I left and gave priority to be an un-employee, today I too have job. I force to all those who are competent enough and have already a job, not to join this force. now its up to you.

Oh My God ! After reading to both of your replies I am really scared now. And specially the worst condition of the Academy "imbindas" told is shocking. Please also tell about the food supplied in academy, is it in edible condition or I should get daily lunch boxes from my own home?

I am an MBA from University of Karachi and my father always wanted to see me as a govt. officer. My family is really happy when I got this job. Now what am I suppose to tell them. I don't want to live my life as a jobless person.

I advise you to accept the offer and join, but keep trying for a better job while serving in ASF. Don't miss this opportunity, it's lot better than being unemployed.

Well, something is better than nothing but you should strive for the best after joining ASF. Secondly, being local of Karachi it is good opportunity for you because you will not be transferred to other cities as their is always scarcity of officers in karachi Airport. Moreover, I am not agree with imbindas as he said classes in mud. There are also furnished classes for theory periods. Mud classes are only for drill and weapon periods. Though living standards of academy is miserable but after training you will see Officer Mess of Karachi airport which is not less than any Army Officers mess.
