Dear member,

If you read Article 21;sub clause 4 and its proviso(police order 2002),
You can easily understand that under that law A police station could only be headed by a police officer not below the rank of inspector;
But after this amendment, sub inspectors have also been legally made eligible for that slot!

Regards!

brother i think that posts of Sub Inspectors will be only advertise not inspectors.

Posts of Sub-Inspectors will be advertised shortly. Rules have been amended. According to the new rules, 50% of the total sanctioned strength of Sub-Inspectors will be recruited directly through PPSC. 25% will be promoted from amongst serving graduate Head Constables/ASIs (like ASIs are promoted through P-Cadet Scheme) through PPSC, whereas rest of 25% will be given to regular promotion quota (Rankers). Punjab govt is also working on devising policy to recruit DSsP through PPSC, but no chance in near future, as PSP group will not let them do so easily.

WS.

Physical requirement will most probably be the same as that of Constable i.e. Height = 5`7 and Chest = 33 x 34 1/2, age 18 to 25 years. They are working on this issue, collecting vacancy position in the rank of Sub-Inspector from all over the Punjab, then they will probably sanction/create more seats. It'll take time
