COMBINED COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR

RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS OF
PROVINCIAL MANAGEMENT SERVICE, ETC. – 2016

Subject: Education (Paper-I)

Time Allowed: Three Hours
Maximum Marks: 100


Note : Attempt Any THREE Questions from Part-I and Any TWO Questions from Part-II.

PART-I


Q No 1 : Write down the recommendations of National Education Policy 2010 with reference to Elementary , Secondary and Higher Education and critically discuss the strengths and weaknesses of implementation policy (4+4+4+8 Marks )

Q No 2 : Why our educational institutions have failed to develop charater building among youth ? Discuss its causes and frame 10 points as guiding principles for teachers at the all levels. (10+10 Marks )

Q No 3 : The curriculum development is a continuous process. Discuss this statement . Also describe the factors influencing curriculum development in Pakistan. (10+10 Marks )

Q No 4 : Write note on any Two of the following :- (10+10 Marks )
a) Role of private Sector in Education.
b) Role of education in nation building .
c) Elements of Pedagogy.
d) Role of education in Character-building of student .
PART-II


Q No 5 : Elaborate element s of curriculum and curriculum development process in detail keeping in view the model given by Hilda Taba . Furthermore, explain curriculum implementation process in Pakistan. (4+8+8+ Marks )

Q No 6 : Critically analyze the education system of Pakistan . Explain why we are not achieving national goals and provide recommendations to improve the system from goal setting to implementation. (8+6+6 Marks )

Q No 7 : Differentiate between growth and development . Also describe cognitive , moral , emotional & social development of children with one concrete example for each aspect. (4+16 Marks )

Q No 2 : Critically discuss the process of educational planning and its implementation in detail. Discuss its importance for national development . (20 Marks )

Q No 3 : Define comparative education. Write a comprehensive note on methods of comparative education .(5+15 Marks )

Q No 4 : How can financing higher education uplift a country's economy ? Analyze. (20 Marks )

Q No 5 : How can Leadership, as an important function of administration, play greater role in improvement of educational institutions in Pakistan. (20 Marks )

Q No 6 : Differentiate qualitative and quantitative paradigms of research in terms of sampling techniques employed and ways for data analysis. (20 Marks )

Q No 7 : Discuss the issue of medium of instruction in our schools and colleges. Give your views and make well reasoned recommendations . (20 Marks )

Q No 8 : Discuss the role of Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) in revamping higher education in Punjab. (20 Marks )
