I am serving in CID now a days. In Police Department there are no accurate timings. But mostly the timing is observed from 9 to 6. Yes the best scorers in written part are called for interview. my salary is 22,000/- after adding all the allowances. Yes there is margin to prepare for CSS, during the service.

ASI is in BPS-9 while Assistant is in BPS-14. the starting pay of Assistant in punjab police is nearly Rs. 22,000/- per month.
Assistant are posted in I.G. office, in Regional Police Offices, District Police offices, Police Headquarters etc. As per Police rules, Assistant are not posted with anyone who is junior than SP rank.
On promotion, an assistant becomes a Superintendent (BPS-16), and on his next promotion becomes Assistant Director (BPS-17).
Assistant Director is a newly created post which is only in Punjab Police.
The work of an assistant is not of being head clerk but an assistant performs his duties regarding Administration, noting/drafting, transfer/posting, etc. But it is a non-uniformed/civil post of official working. If anyone want to apply, then I have past paper of the said post.

kindly someone, please tell me what is the syllabus of Assistant(Punjab Police), what will be the pattern of paper subjective or objective. As the ppsc only mentioned in our roll number slip "written test(mcq)" but did not mention syllabus outline etc.
