Default Need Assistance from Seniors

Yesterday I visited the official website for FPSC and there in the CSS section was a pdf attachment named "Screening Test for Competitive Examination 2014". I would be obliged to know, preferably from senior members, what is this screening test for ?

1. Can a candidate sit for the CSS competitive examination without going through the latter ? Or is it mandatory for everyone to appear for this?

2. Furthermore if it is mandatory then what are the eligibility requirements for the Screening test? Are they the same as the CSS exam.

3. How much time do I need to prepare for this ?

Thanks
Waqas

just 33% passing marks for the screening test? isn't that too low a benchmark?
