ASI is non-gazzetted and junior level officer in echelons of Police ranks. ASI has no administrative powers and some executive jurisdiction of authority. Junior level officer title / designation has been given to ASI becuase its grade is lower, in addition, it comes under cover of executive cader. In Pakistan's civil organizational system, the ranks of different posts in various services fall in administrative and operational services divided into caders duly governed by laws of assembly as Civil Servant Act, 1973.
Therefore, there are two caders i.e Executive Cader and Ministerial cader. Those ranks/posts which have some authority/power/jurisdictional orders all such are enlisted under ambit of EXECUTIVE CADER, eg AC, ASP, SO, Mukhtairkar, AD etc.
likewise, Miniterial Caders posts have no authority/power. The posts are just technical, specialization and particularized field e.g Stenographer, Computer Programmer, Private Secretary etc.

ASIs posts are appropriately recruited by provincial Commissions in Pakistan because it fall in executive cader. This is the fact that entitlement of officer is attached with post of ASI. Concludingly, ASI is non-gazzetted and junior rank officer post.

Dear, saimabaloch... It seems you are not familiar to the Interviews, I does not mean that one who crams all the G.K would be selected. In Forces Interviews like Army. Airforce, Navy and Police this craming material have no importance. Infact they are asessing you leadership qualities in Inteview like Confidence, Decision Making, Cooperativeness, Physical edurance, Team work, Talking Power etc etc..... Therefore I suggest you to work on these qualities by Practicing with Freinds like by conducting Mock Interviews.....

you are right dear, i do totally agree with you GK has no any importance with the selection process of armed forces its your mentality approach, leadership qualities and interpersonal skills which can play vital role in the process selection well, inayat honestly speaking I'm upset with your failure i mean you have already faced deputy, GTO, Psych during your ISSB tests so you must would have been selected. Anyway get come back in SRP interviews and do your best IN SHA ALLAH this time you will be selected
