Has anyone from Islamabad/Rawalpindi received the interview letter yet. When will interviews start here ? Anyone willing to share this plz?

Let me share my full experience of today at Lahore. My interview was today at 1.00 PM. Reporting time was 12 and after an hour I was called for interview. So don't be late. I came to know today that they are calling people 'alphabetically'. As today all people were who have names with Z. An SBP guys confirmed it. I entered SBP building at 11.50, and went to 7th floor. The behavior of the SBP staff was too cooperative from the gate keepers to the interview panel unlike my previous experience when I came SBP for buying some books from IBP. They gate keepers passed smile and greeting when the came to know that I am there for interview. They didn’t even take my mobile which they do to every visitor.
I entered in the waiting hall. A young SBP boy checked the documents and verified my provided set of photocopy with original. I hadn’t photocopies of few documents. He said no problem we have a photo copy machine here, don’t worry. Within 15 minutes, documents of all candidates were checked and they started the interview. We were 13-15 candidates and they started calling one by one. I was 4th.
Interview panel was of 6 people. They were very friendly and encouraging. They asked the following questions;
Brief introduction
What are you doing?
You current job description
Why SBP?
Then they started asking that why are you switching? You are working as a Branch Manager and here you are going to work under Manager?
You have more good growth options in commercial bank especially for you as you are manager there?
What is the performance of the banks in 2012?
Why banks are progressing and showing huge profits? What’s the main reason?
What is KIBOR rate?
What is SBP BSC?
What is current ratio?
What is operating profit?
What have you achieved in your life?
What is aim of your life?
How you tackle your stress?
What if we appoint you in Quetta or Peshawar?
It's not an exactive job? Are you ready?
My observations
SBP has chosen very professional and qualified people. One of them, had very uptodate knowledge about my present bank, it’s profit rate, it’s branches and higher management.
One guy kept on saying”Be relax, hum ap ko kha nae jain gay” I said sir I am, don’t worry
They interrupted me in every answer when they came to know that I can answer that, but when they realized that I can’t answer a question, they gave me full time to make you confused
They are excellent at trapping you. I got impressed when on one ‘analytical type’ question about my bank; I had to think at least 30-45 seconds to speak. They gave me full time and said comment on this and answer this, no matter how much time you need.
They focused on the question that why with a non banking educational degree, I want to be in SBP?
I have appeared in so many interviews since 2009 but this one was best one. I learnt a lot. It was of almost of 20 minutes and they utilized this time in best way to ‘expose’ me:d.

After the interview they offered a lunch. and then i said good bye to SBP Lahore.

I want to share some 'knowledge' I heard from 2-3 different SBP employees today about YPIP. One who was checking the documents, other who was sending us for interview, and third one to who I met during "Juma prayer".

They told that there are many chances that current batch of YPIP would be appointed to their nearest stations unlike last batch of YPIP who were mostly appointed to Karachi. Reason they told is that there are huge number of vacancies in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and in Rawalpinidi. So you have huge chances to get appointed near/at your home stations. He said, For example, in Lahore, 4 years ago, 1000 people were working and today there are only 500-550 people. Due to the reason that many old people took retirement at age of 55 under SBP retirement scheme.

SBP would not take so much time to call the successful candidates as soon the interview process ends. So get ready in February.

Number of seats are much more than past. Same reason, I mentioned above. SBP is hiring huge number of people on different seats and under different schemes.

My experience of the interview in SBP Karachi was no less challenging. The interviewers were expert in making me confused. The staff was very well mannered and the panel was very professional.

I agree with your statement that SBP would not delay in hiring successful candidates as soon the interview process ends. And it must be done by this February.
The same news I have heard that SBP is hiring a huge number of people for different seats and under different schemes. Anyways, it is good to know that the candidates will have more chances to be located in their hometowns.

Great! I had experienced the same when I was interviewed.

Got the letter for interview today. My interview is on 16th @ 02;30 PM at SBP, G-5/2, Islamabad.

I think the order for interview is alphabetical as someone mentioned earlier. I received my interview letter today for 16th January. Probably one of the first candidates for interview at Islamabad.
Have exam week from 16th to 21st. How unlucky!
