i'm currently facing a 'disqualification streak' 67 in SBOT and 59 in YPIP. in botch cases, general knowledge was a real trouble.

- i've done my maths from GRE (14th ed)
- (14th ed) GRE because that is the only edition that has questions based upon LOGICAL REASONING
- verbal from GRE as well as GAT (doggar publishers, muhammad idrees)
- for current affairs portion, i studied previous 6 monthly issues of Jahangir World Times, as they provide monthly mcq's, which helps a great deal
- 600 Common Errors book besides TOEFL for sentence correction

even so, as it turns out, i haven't qualified yet. so may be my strategy is flawed. do share your approach to it

SBOTS: (verbal 29, maths 19, gk 19) total: 67
YPIP: (verbal 28, maths 18, gk 13 ) total 59

so, there's at least one thing i know for sure - my gk is very poor. gk portion is divided into three parts: gk, current affairs and iq, each part consists of 10 questions. (correct me where i'm wrong)

for the YPIP test, i guess there was only one mcq from jahangir world times previous 6 magazines, that of the serena williams. i've observed that 3-4 questions in current affairs are sports-related. furthermore, in YPIP, 10 questions of econmics were included in gk portion. i found them hard, frankly speaking.

in verbal section, at least 12 questions were based on sentence CORRECTION in YPIP. would it be useful to go through 600 COMMON MISTAKES in order to be better equipped while attempting sentence correction questions? or is it a waste of time? guide me please.

The test of SBP junior officers will not be GET-FS i think..
GK and MATHS will be there but English portion will be verbal not grammatical one. Since bachelor degree holders(14 years of education) were eligible to apply in this test,, so i think they may change the pattern of test.. and in previous both tests (sbots and ypip) GET-FS was mentioned in online instructions... but in junior officers link it is not mentioned..

yes, you are right. it seems like the format will change. and if the format does change, please let me know will the verbal section of a general test look like? are they going to include vocabulary and more analogies?
