I presume all prominent universities (management sector like LUMS, IBA, IOBM etc) issue degree and transcript to the graduating students. They never mention percentage marks on any one of them. However, they also issue a certificate, on the request of the student, which depicts the CGPA and percentage marks, division and grade. It is not a standard issue for graduating students and therefore they do not provide it to every student. I have no idea about your university but I am sure there will be some arrangement like this. 1: If your division is mentioned, you can ask the register office (or pertinent authority) of your university to issue you a certificate showing the equivalent marks percentage for that particular division. 2: If your CGPA is mentioned, definitely there will be an equivalence percentage certificate that your university tends to provide. In both situations, you need to obtain a certificate from the university stating your marks percentage instead of your division/CGPA. You should contact the university immediately. The procedure should not be lengthy if it is a standard one at your institute. |

They are actually certificates and not the mark sheets (The table on the back is titled as either gradation or grading formula).

salam,
regarding this matter of equivalence i would like to shed some light, i did ask SBP HR department guy who called us to submit our forms about the equivalence and he said that they do need some sort of proof that our GPA is equivalent to 60% or above, however when i went to my university they told me that they cant issue equivalence certificate as per HEC policy and gave me a reference of the letter. the letter is present on the official website of HEC and i mailed SBP informing them of the problem but got no feed back.. heres the link of that letter.. http://www.hec.gov.pk/InsideHEC/Divi...Percentage.jpg |

You can ask about division and % marks rather than equivalence
Quote:
As per my observation, for candidates having CGPA based degrees, it is seldom written there. If your university does not issue equivalence, you might ask them about your division and the marks percentage for this division (each division has a percentage like 1st division is above 60%). You can explain them the situation and ask them to furnish you some sort of document/proof duly signed by the authority showing that your division lies above 60% desired limit. Just some sort of proof from the authority.

IN our case the grading criteria is given at the back of the transcript like c or c+ etc, not division and thats my whole point that university cant issue letter based on the HEC instructions that percentage and GPA are not to be compared, so being an army managed institute they do not deviate from those so called instructions but marks are nowhere mentioned on transcript in case of relative grading so my problem stands
