according to my opinion...
my dear...
if you want to join academy than join it only for 2 months my dear.... you can get everything from an academy in first 2 months and pay your remaining time in full-fledge study and last 3 months in test session...

Insha Allah success will be yours...

i agree with red.hawk, studying from subject specialist is far more better than joining any academy.

but i dont agree to go for subject specialist, go to css specialist they will give u notes, they will tell u about important topics, because thay had have a very keen eye on papers and paper makers,
where as a specialist will teach u all the book with all details which includes many useless things

To be quite honest, it depends on the individual if he/she is to succeed in CSS exams. Academies guide you in the right direction but do not spoon feed you. Individual (self) study is more important.

Academies are not a waste of time. I'm currently enrolled at Officers academy Lahore and its been a great run so far (Not advertising the academy in any way).

I don't think anyone pointed out the fact that whichever academy you join (Toppers/Officers/KIPS), you get to meet people who are in the same dilemma as you (how to pass and score in the CSS exams). Sometimes they give you intimate advice which not even the academies offer. Trust me there are so many minute technical absurdities you don't even know about (but some of your friends might).

In my case, having studied and lived in New York for the past 5 years, i didn't know the how to get my foreign degrees evaluated and where to go to get forms and how to prepare my application My peers helped me out and when my turn came, i helped out others

So join whichever academy as you may choose, scoring good in CSS depends upon your own hardwork, the guidelines you receive from your peers/mentors and a lil' faith in the celestial powers
