well my father reired as secretary to government of punjab he is one of the most senior bureaucrats in the service (1960 batch) i am also a future bureaucrat inshallah i can tell a lot of things about the conduct of the exam
first thing which may shock many of u is that this exam is not transparent at all favouritism and nepotism was and is widely prevelant in fpsc in the other post i read someone posting a reply that no one names the beneficiaries but i can tell u one case is that of the daughter of a right hand man of nawaz sharif she failed in the written exam but got allocated in the final list in income tax group presently serving in punjab now many of the fellow members would say that such things do happen in pa kistan and one example is not sufficient to establish the nepotism of fpsc here is second example son of a former chief secretary of punjab during manzoor wattoos chief ministership failed many times in the b.a exam there are many rumours in the bureaucratic community that he has not even passed the b.a exam officially got allocated in css in omg group serving presently in F.I.A lahores admn wing for a long time third example is of another former chief secretary of punjab in shahbaz sharifs first tenure who got both of his sons allocated to the dmg one is working in grade 19 in lahore in an autonomous body newly creted in the aftermath of floods of 2010 and second is dco in a central punjab district both these brothers are very stupid and senseless people and their getting through the fpsc exam is self explanatory fourth example is the son of a former petroleum secretary of pakistan during benazir bhuttos first regime a very notorious individual went to jail many times is a retired army captain inducted in the csp in 1963 during ayub regime his son is mentally retarded and suffers from speech impediments got selected in the d.m.g while on the other hand the son of a poor man is rejected merely on the basis of short sightedness so much for the transparency of fpsc Last edited by Umer; Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 08:04 PM. i will give more examples with the passage of time but someone asked about punjab public service commission now this incident relates to year 2006 pcs exams now called pms one senior dmg officer who runs an academy for css and pcs got some papers leaked of pcs executive exam to give to his academy students some ordinary students got wind of the whole matter and appeared in front of chairman ppsc who after listening to them constituted a committe headed by a member of commission who is a very close friend of my father and also worked under him he told my father that few officers according to his investigation are invovled in this practice of getting papers leaked and he reported the matter to chairman ppsc who called the gentleman in office and gave a dressing down for such kind of behaviour by the way his son got selected in pms a few years ago

1)A former IG's son, couldn't clear CSS in 1st attempt. Got allocated in Railways in 2nd. 2)A current Federal Sec.'s (serving) son isn't even interested in CSS. He is doing Masters from USA and was working in a MNC after his bachelors 3)Another Federal Sec.'s (serving) son is again doing Masters from Australia. Once again, not interested in CSS. These are all my childhood friends so this is not hearsay. Yes there are many loopholes but there is no way that a visibly incapable person (especially the mentally retarded case) can be selected via CSS. Yes a chief sec. may be a powerful person but do not underestimate 900 other passed candidates. Amongst the 20-30 passed candidates I met at academies during interview preparation, almost everyone had some sort of backing. Someone had an industrialist background while others had politicians or bureaucrats in the family. Do you honestly think people who passed the written with such backgrounds would allow a chief sec. or a politician to take away their right? Think again. |

Dear orangeemperor, this thread was started by a poor fellow who was curious to know if, in this culture of nepotism, he should work really hard for CSS and keep his hopes or not. Do not let him down by telling him that its only top brass offspring who get allocated. I personally know some very very poor fellows, you won't believe how poor but hard working and intelligent; they worked hard, cleared the exam, got allocated and have reached offices of secretaries now. Therefore even if you are rite, even if it does happen as you said, its only portion of the whole story and do not demotivate someone by telling such things. Everyone has the biggest sifarish of all, and that is Allah's.

And yep, DMG is not the ultimate profession. I know a couple of DMG officers who left their jobs to work in the private sector. Heck, all you need to do is go visit IBA (Karachi) and LUMS and check out profiles of their MBA students. I can bet you will find minimum 2/3 students who were former DMG/PSP/IRS officers who left their jobs because it wasn't as charming as they had expected it to be |

When corruption is prevail at every inch of this society how can FSP be deviod of that.? YES You are Right! There are seats RESERVE for Military and Politicians in CSS but not more than 5 to 10. If you will analyse the whole process by ignoring this BLUNDER its satisfactory (as compare to other department). We can quote many example but the thing is we don't want to disheart anyone. Despite of this corruption 100 of candidates are fairly succeeded in getting their share. So, Do prepare hard you will get your's as ALLAH is the GIVER not ANYONE else. Have faith in HIM
