Dear members... i am new on this forum..and i am making my mind to do CSS or PMS....
I want to know which one is better CSS or PMS?

this just like as if you ask "which is better a farrari or a bicycle". offcourse css is far better than pms.

CSS is better. Comparison put forth by Rabia Afzal is not proper. You can compare it as difference between Honda City & Honda Civic

comparison speed ka hai sir. css me promotion 5 years mein ho jati hai from 17 to 18 grade. pms mein 12 years lagte hain. ab ap batao admi gari se jaldi phounche ga ya cycle se.

sir i havnt described anything this is what the pcs officers say and this is what the members of this forum say. a few yeas back pcs ooficers were on the roads protesting for their promotions. this shows that the service structure is poor .

well Rabia first think for a while whether these officers were from PMS or PCS, as i think we are making comparison between CSS and PMS...
we have examples of many people who were serving as PMS officers and they qualified the CSS and got the allocation as well but they preferred to stay in PMS...i don't here talk about occupational group or preference as we are talking about promotions so assuming that these people were rational they must have gone for CSS but they didn't, so what are comments on this matter?

i want to know from merit point of view, is it better to do PMS? because PMS officers have to perform their duties within Punjab, but scale and promotion point of view , i have no idea....

as now i am serving in BPS-16 in punjab govt sector...now among CSS or PMS which is better choice to do? or my some friend says u hv not need to do CSS or PMS as i am serving in BS-16....but some says its better to do CSS or PMS...

Each and every group of CSS is far better than PMS. CSS offers very fast promotions.Normally after the elapsion of 5 years one will be promoted into a higher grade or scale but in case of PMS it take ages to get promoted into a higher scale. Besides CSS is more powerful and having a score of lucrative posts which is not available in PMS. best ov luck

Is it true for every group of CSS, the promotion thing wich you people have mentioned?
