Sir can you please guide me about political science as an optional, in terms of length of preperation time , scoring trend etc..
[B][I]
Political Science is not a stable subject in terms of score. It hasn't proved scoring in css 2013.
ILAW : Can u please share a study plan for it and tell is it risky subject or stable one? and a person without LAW background can do it?
[B][I]
I will answer to last of your two questions.
First thing is that I. Law largely remind a stable subject. Either it is good scoring or at least remains an average scoring subject and never proves utter disappointment.
Secondly , for it law background is not necessary. Off course, Law graduates have an edge as a person having studied it during L. L. B would find it quite easy to prepare. However , any person having any background can prepare it well provided one has interest in this subject.

That is a balanced combination. Go for that without any hesitation and don't think about Urdu. Urdu is an unstable subject and often it lands among low scoring subjects.

Thanks alot tasawur bhai. Your advice is of tremendous help, i really appreciate it. i m thinking to start preparing for 2016 attempt. My handwriting is not the kind you will call excellent and that is why i was little bit concerned. I have done o levels and a levels and as you might know cambridge examiners pay least heed towards writing styles and things like that, they mean content and answer only. My essay writing is not bad i suppose as i secured A in o level english and A level general paper but this neat and tidy piece of work freaks me out at times. :/. surely will work over it.

I read your posts related to arabic and i was really confused about certain things.
1. how do you start doing translations of a language of which you know nothing directly without having a grip on the language?
2. Dont you need to have a grip on the arabic language to write an essay or short answer in arabic??
3. at one point i was learning arabic language from someone(not for css) but just like that( didnt learn much though) and i am comfortable with studying it, however what i am getting from reading some posts is that for arabic in css there is are predefined translations, short answers, essays etc which you have to cramp and the paper comes out of those same stuff. Am i right here??

Dear Ahsan there is nothing like cramming. If you see paper of CSS 2014 you would see a huge outcry that it was out of syllabus. Why? because those people who prepare a selective amount by cramming and cram a few essays, they end up saying things like this. About translation and essay writing you really need a grip on language to produce quality. Actually what people do is to prepare an essay on a certain personality and then replace the name only if essay on any personality is asked. Now evaluate for yourself, do you think such an essay would score impressive marks? same goes for translation. If you know language, you can translate just about any paragraph but if you don't you could write only memorized translation and would not be able to answer if anything you have not memorized, is asked.

It goes simply that if you know language, you can tackle any subject and if you don't know it, then you are taking risk and fpsc is discouraging risk taking as the recent trend shows. It is now designing papers in which only those who are prepared to tide the waves, can excel.

In my humble opinion as per my observation of the results of css 2010-13 , both Indo Pak and Muslim Law are highly unstable subjects and they highly disappoint the aspirants at the end. Therefore , I would suggest you to give a second thought to your choice of Optionals.

Don't go for a Muslim Law at all.
Replace it with a regional language or some other subject.
Muslim law is such an unstable subjects that any subject may be better replacement for it.

How, if I replace M.Law and Journalism with psychology. I like it but I have never studied psychology. I got 60 in m. law in 2010 but 43 in journalism.
