Why? Because that is what is tested on GRE and SAT Verbal sections- how good readers we are. Yes, there is an analytical writing section in which a test taker has to write essay kind of thing. Nonetheless, no publisher I know of has given any tips as to improving one's writing. The focus is usually on how to undermine argument essays, how to analyse an essay, when to conclude, how to save time etc. Still, I would like you to tell us who that publisher is whose GMAT, SAT books you would like to suggest.

Have a mercy on me and look for the following book

Anyhow, I hate old rattling sabers.

My opinion hardly counts but I would still maintain that if you have decent english, you better work on improving your expression rather than focusing on these technicalities. For that purpose, READ quality books and practice writing. It is only after reading that you realise which words are used colloquially, which words are archaic, which words should be avoided in order to prevent the expression from looking complex and repulsive, which words make your writing look banal etc etc.

There is a certain B.A book by some Zia (Sorry, I can't recall his full name). Read about correction of errors from there. That's probably all you need to know about minor technicalities.
Complete name please, for your info I already scheduled for ESL.
(I am here to share my experience,so don't bother about)

Sir, with all respect and due care do tell me how do you perceive about " the research based essay"? Since fpsc has updated its syllabus as well.

Quite expected that my request would also be turned down.
Anyways, what I mean consult Google.com( that how research based essay is written)
For your nice suggestion, how one can write good expression without knowing the intricacies of fundamental sentence structuring.

I have remained in touch with GRE preparatory books for couple of years. I never came across all that you mentioned in your earlier posts. However, I stand corrected now because I just realised GMAT does test you on that, thank you!

Excuse me but I failed to comprehend it. I am least bothered, btw.

The fact that FPSC has updated its syllabus has no bearing on how one should write "research based essays". That said, I am neither an authority nor did I intens to sound like one. My post was essentially about writing english, be it essay or any other thing.

Okay, thank you for the suggestion but I am not interested. Excuse me if I sound rude, honestly I don't mean to sound so. Nonetheless, it's a fact that I have never felt the need to know how research based essays are written. Also, I wonder from where these research based essays made way to this discussion out of the blue.

You have raised a genuine question. Well, I have no idea about all that you guys were talking about in this thread- conjunction, compound sentence bla bla bla. I have no shame in admitting that my use of English is more intuitive (just like my Urdu is). I don't claim that I am good at it. However, I feel that I and many others of my ilk ought to focus on expression rather than exerting all the energy on being pedantic. That's why I wrote "If you can write decent English...".

So what exactly you want from me right right now! Let me remind you, I hate useless and unprecedently self justified arguments.

Lastly,
Do suggest me the complete name of the author as you have suggested to all.
I wanna put my effort to make it go through my eyes as well.
