I have read original piece by J. B. Priestley that you recomended. It helped me better understad the background and was a fun read.

There are two problems in your precis 1) you have deviated from perspective of the paragraph 2) you have failed to understand the context of paraph. I will on it in detail I m sending this from mobile

It is a very good attempt; however, there are some issues:
1) You have interpreted the parts of paragraph. For instance, " Not indolence, but actions in want of quality and direction are responsible for dilapidated condition of the world." Don't do that because interpreting can/will alter the crux of the passage.
2) You have not touched some points of the passage. Although it is okay to eliminate a few points, but you should be very careful while doing that.
3) You have mostly paraphrased the sentences; a precis is something quite different than just paraphrasing.
This is my subjective opinion, and kindly go through the following article on precis writing which I have found very useful.

Don't you think paraphrasing is unavoidable in precis? Moreover, in my view, it is only through interpretation that one is able to reduce the size of the paragraph. However, you are absolutely right in saying that one needs to be ultra cautious while interpreting actual meaning of the paragraph.

In my opinion, simply replacing words of actual paragraph with synonyms might render the precis boring.

I request you to please share your precis of same paragraph.

though i have not attempted this precis again except in paper yet i can give u an idea of how i solved it...the central idea of my precis was that the best and busiest people of the world are real creators of evil on this earth and that they should take break to restore world's peace.
I will soon post my solved precis

Cherokee was the place for holidays as advised by his friend. they arrived at Qualla Boundary, a town of Cherokee, surrounded by mountains. The town depicted its cultural background to tourists by showing various manifests. they went to a souvenir shop, which presented tools and handicrafts of traditional heritage. they met a person who was a guide. he told them during low rush seasons, they earn living by 'Bingo Weekend'. In these weekends, great number of people gathered and played different games.

In the end, they visited a museum which displayed different sculptures and artifacts. He was looking forward to visit another amazing destination next time.

A VISIT TO CHEROKEE

It is said " Practice makes a man perfect " so no worries...
You could use word " recommend or referred" than advised because it is his friend not doctor...
secondly do not compress sentences unnecessarily as it will give an ugly look to your precis
