Default Some questions regarding the essay i attempted in CSS 2010

Salam Gents.

In the 2010 exam,i attempted the essay "Man is born free but is everywhere in chains" or something. Now,if you will forgive the immodesty,my English is good but i did make a series of mistakes and i would love your honest opinion regarding my chances. Here are the problems with my essay:

Firstly,it's the choice of topic. It is not the most popular one i know and i only chose it because my mind froze and i couldn't attempt much more routine topics like Mismanagement in energy sector and Women's Rights

Secondly, there is loads of cutting in my essay,i mean loads!! I have actually cut i think two pages straight which makes it very unattractive physically

Thirdly, and this is i think the most pertinent, there is a lack of balance. My essay should right focus the majority of it's content on the Struck in chains bit but there should be around forty percent on the born free bit.I have only written one page on the Born free part. One page out of 15 page essay.

Fourthly, there is very few suggestions because i felt it really wasn't a suggestive essay.

And finally,my outline could have been better.

Whats good about it is the bits that i have written,i have written really well, plenty of contemporary examples, reall cohesion and organization and i also namedropped Rosseau at one point.

So come on,what should i expect,i reckon it will probably fail but i want your honest opinion

and what about discussing the past and present and suggestions?did you not mentioned them?and did you discussed few factors/causes describing why man is being enthralled?
anyways if you did made an impressive and to the point outline, then if you remained stick to it,if there were no grammarical mistakes...then you should celebrate still i ll suggest you to not be over optimistic and keep in touch with your studies...
good luck

I cited several examples,i think
Like i said my own assessment of what i wrote is allright. The problem was with very poor organization.

How many marks am i likely to lose because of the following

a) Loads of cutting
b)Not enough balance.Wrote a lot about how man is shackled but not enough about how he is born free
c)The choice of topic was poor

I am reasonable man,if i am likely to fail then please be honest

In my point of view if any one of the points clicks the examiner u will pass ur essay........and rest of things does count like cutting and outline but i know many friends who passed the essay without outline and also have cuttings in paper.so dont worry...............

Thankyou for the replies friends!!

What about the choice of my topic. It wasn't the most popular choice i know but i sort of stumbled on it.Do you think it will play to my advantage.I have spoken to some who say that sorta rare choice has more marks potential while someone else(very reliable) told me that topic doesn't matter and each essay is judged on it's own merit and not on how popular or unpopular the topic is.So is good for me?

I am of the opinion that if you didnot go off the topic then you will get through inshallah.

As far presentation is concerned, most of the csps did also make mistakes while attempting essay despite of that they declared pass.
Furthermore, ask people for pray and do it by yourself as well, inshallah u will be a little bit satisfied.

Wish u best of luck.

Topic doesn't matter rather they check quality and requirements of an essay. In 2009, it was assumed that those who attempted Future of Democracy in Pakistan and Women's Rights were declared fail. I attempted Future of Democracy in 2009 and passed with simple English style but avoided blunders and remained stick to the topic.
