and one thing more there is only one thesis statement for one essay which is at the end of introductory para not at the end of each para??? thesis statement is gist of introduction means gist of gist (because introduction itself is gist of whole essay). it means the whole essay should be predicted from thesis statement which is at the end of introduction. Am I right Umer brother???

Actually putting it at the start or end of the introduction is in your own hands.
I personally would prefer to put it at the beginning because it is a sort of claim that I'm making with thesis statement. If it interests my readers and get them curious, they'll read the essay till the end. |

The thesis statement you were talking about that might be topical sentence and you asked that topical sentence should be given in the end or start of paragraph. Well, Some writers give their topical sentence in the end of Paragraph but most of the writers give their topical sentence in beginning. Topical sentence is recommended in beginning. Introduction is the gist of whole Essays. Other Paragraphs are supportive to the introductory paragraph. A paragraph contains a topical sentence and other sentences are supportive to that topical sentence. Last line of paragraph should give an outlet to new paragraph. Sentences should be connected like beans of rosary and paragraphs like necklace. If rosary and necklace are broken, they drop down their beauty and art. Unity matters a lot, chain of paragraphs and sentences must be there in an Essay. It is an art and art takes time to learn which can only be learned through immense practice and good guidance. Hope, it may be helpful. Regards, |

Power of Media in Modern World
Introduction Media is regarded as the most powerful weapon of 21st century. It is as lethal a weapon as a nuke. It has the capability to convert day into night and night into day, a hero into a villain and a villain into hero. Media has brought revolutions in the world and has transformed the globe into a global village. It has virtually erased the geographical boundaries, removed the barriers of social, political and cultural differences and as a result this diversified world has been reduced to remote control. Media's role in education, awareness, opinion formation and entertainment is so diversified in its horizon and domain that one thing is clear and decided that the tides of media cannot be reversed, however, they may be altered in nature and composition. By Dr Quratul Ain Malik (ITG) Samia fakhar, read this introduction twice and decide what the thesis statement is? And, tell me? |

1- immediately after your question answer the same in your view 2- just ask question with a sign but it depends on your statement and context of the essay |

No doubt, democracy is playing its effective role in educational, economic, political and social sphere in developing countries but again there are certain negative consequences on all these fields of life provided if democracy is in its torn form. The responsibility lies on collective institutional struggle and individual hard work to improve the condition. However aforementioned analysis of role of democracy in developing countries arise the question whether it is favorable to have democracy with its adverse effects and torn face? (and the essay ends) now can we ask such type of question in essay?? or can we end an essay with a question? as conclusion should be open ended and should be left with a food of thought for examiner. |
