As far my experience determines and what teachers have taught me is that whenever you start writing an essay dont try to explain the meanings of the term which have been used in the essay.For instance you have started meanings of term.This is not required...
Furthermore you have included the topic ARE WE A GREAT NATION...i think it is deviation from the topic.
I am not an expert in essay nor i am a CSP but what i have learnt from Books and my attempt in 2013 is that do not make mistakes like these.
I hope you get through it with flying colours as luck is the utmost factor is CSS.

I agree on this point. Meanings would have been more suitable after the captivating intro paragraph. After the intro one can always address the definations. But I do see some good perspectives on the topic in this outline.
