Traditionally; Urdu as medium of expression in Islamiat paper was preferred for following factors:
>One can well decorate one’s paper with Ayahs, Ahadess, quotations, and relevant poetry in Urdu medium. > From the very beginning we have been socialized and religiously trained in Urdu/our regional language. That makes the Urdu terminologies much more familiar and frequently-heard-of. This can, in turns, boost your speed during the paper by allowing a continuous flow of thoughts without distortions and hiccups. Recent trend of Islamiat paper has drastically changed from traditional bookish style to free style in the shape of generalized questions giving a look of current affairs, Pakistan affairs, and talk shows. This is because of global change in perceiving things in the aftermaths of extremism and terrorism. A philosophical change has been incorporated in this paper to bring a change in the orthodox approach of extremist tendencies. CSS exam besides yardstick of civil servants selection serves another crucial purpose i.e. to bring positive change in masses and enlighten the well educated militia. This exam provides a message from our think tanks about state stance and priorities. Hence; in this scenario we have bulk material handy in English medium as compared to Urdu medium through various articles in the newspapers / modern books. It would be sane decision to attempt current Islamiat paper in English medium for our ease and availability of relevant ideas, terms, and material. However; if any body feels at home in Urdu, s/he is appreciated to opt Islamiat in Urdu. Regards |

Quote:
a- what was the last time when you wrote something in Urdu? Or b- what was the latest test/exam that you had attempted in Urdu? if you feel confident attempting in Urdu then go for it.Because medium of expression doesn't matter, the accuracy and effectiveness of your attemp does! Conclusion; scoring has nothing to do with the medium of expression and hence attempting in Urdu can be as much scoring as in English. Regarding the concern whether its easier to prepare in urdu or english, i suggest the later is much more comforting option than the former... Good luck
