Examiner's View regarding Islamization of Pakistan
Do you fellows think that it will negatively impact any candidate marks if he/she writes against how islamization has been handled by the governments. What do you reckon will be the view of the majority of examiners regarding this?

I think you should not be even slightly liberal or secular in Islamiat paper.

Does it mean full term flattery. or how you can define it in other terms. Where the freedom of expression has gone: Don't you think it means FPSC is searching for good puppets() instead of good bureaucrats,I haven't got any good material related to Pakistan affairs.Another point of major concern! If you dont mind than tell me how you can write about the zias islamism, beside imposition of duppatta on ptv newscasters!(I mean a rough outline) Its perplexing,Do you people agree with me? |

I think that we are allowed to criticize anything we want as long as we can elaborate that with reason that why we think that. Unfortunately FPSC wants to listen to their own POV. It hasn't gone well for non conformists
It is about being balanced. I mean I hate the man, but you have to give credit where credit is due. I'm listing a few good things generally liked by people (Not by me) I have left hadood ordinance out still, because I have to answer my conscience too, but it was appreciated by conservatives as well so, you can add it if you want to. 1)built beautiful mosques even in offices, airports, hospitals. Before him people had to get from meeting saying,"sorry sir, I have to go for namaz now" Ramazan ordinance is also seen favorably by people. 2)Started writing of bismillah on Government letters and restored respect of Ulma by Ulma conferences, Ulma board e.t.c 3)Sharia bench and federal sharia courts. Any citizen could challenge laws that were unislamic. 4)Announced the establishment of Qazi courts which were to be free of cost. This was to be an experiment beginning from Islamabad . 5)New education policy: Islamiat and Pakistan studies would be compulsory till graduation. Made Arabic compulsory in 6-8th grades in school. 6)Islami university Islamabad. 7)Qadyani ordinance 1984.They C can't call their center of prayer mosque and can't call their call for prayer azan.. 8)Zakat and ashr system. 9)Changed banking to interest free banking. Established P.L.S accounts which were based on sharing the profit and loss. (But it was still profit, banks only changed the name) Analysis: Liberals didn't like his "molviyat". Islamists also called him "Raees ul munaafikeen" because he was not doing enough islamization and everything he did was just to look good. (This is not your POV but someone else's, so you can criticize) Islamic politicians wanted him to just go back, announce elections and Islamic politicians will handle islamization themselves. Still, Zia left his mark on people, his funeral had thousands of people. He was liked by them. And many people cried on his death. (I don't know why, but still) Okay, and tell me if I have digressed too much and haven't helped at all. But I'm hoping this'll help. And if you want me to elaborate any points, feel free to ask. Just mention the steps he took in his tenure and also mention all other Islamic concerns of all the three constitutions including 1949 Objective Resolution. In the ending paragraph just put up a general analysis and impacts it laid afterwards on the country and its politics in a very balanced way . Like he tried to empower Islamic Ideology as suggested by rightists political parties e.t.c . Don't be so biased in both ways. Examiners keep general approach. You are not supposed to design the policy of Pakistan in the paper. You just have to give your analysis after studying a general course.

For instance, if you are criticising Zia for his Afghan policy and the blowback that it received, you should also know that Zia did not initiate interference in Afghanistan. It was actually Bhutto who formed an Afghanistan Cell within ISI. If you are criticising Bhutto for political marginalisation of Bengalis you should also state that it was actually Quaid e Azam who insisted that Urdu be the only national language. Challenging well established national narrative is not an issue as long as you're not backing it up with content from sensationalist TV anchors or YouTube videos. Know your sources, and their biases.
