I cant recall the exact points …but I can tell the plot which I took from “21 lessons for the 21st century”…by “Yuval Noah Harari”….I started from a fact which I took from this book…(can’t recall the exact figures now)…that annually around 12.5 million people are killed in road accidents, almost 8 million people die from Diabetes and only 15000 people are killed in terror acts but still people do not fear cars in their homes and sugar in their kitchens..people are afraid of terrorism…etc…these were my starting lines…
Next I gave an example which I also took from the same book that, “ suppose a fly wants to destroy a China shop, it can’t do it alone..so it finds a bull, get into its nose, buzz into its brain, and directs the angry bull into the shop…this bull then serves the cause of the fly by destroying the whole shop…terrorists are the fly and the bull is basically the perception of terrorism created by the mass media…
the main point was “how” this perception is shaped… so they shape this negative perception through repetition, propaganda, creating content on social media, electronic media and all that…because people now view the world through screens so they believe what is being iterated on every forum…
my outline basically contained these main headings
Intro
Terrorism and its perception
How this perception is shaped by mass media
Positive and negative effects of this perception
Way forward
Conclusion…
I wrote total 16 subheadings…around 2500 words…

Here's what I attempted for "Global Politics and International Relations"

1. Introduction
2. Transformation in Global Politics
a. Rise of China
b. Resurgence of Russia
c. Asia’s primacy in global economics and trade (cut)
d. Decline of U.S Global Influence (cut sub headings)
i. Withdrawal from the Middle East
ii. Afghanistan debacle
iii. Polarisation of U.S Polity (rise of populism, racism and xenophobia)
iv. Weakening of U.S. moral appeal
e. Uncertain trajectory of globalization
3. Signs of Brewing Conflict
a. U.S-China rivalry
i. Economic decoupling and technological rivalry;
ii. Geopolitical tensions (South-China Sea, Xinjiang issue)
iii. Shift towards bloc politics (Quad, AUKUS, Russo-China strategic partnership)
iv. Bipartisan support to China’s containment (both Democrats and Republicans are united in so-called Indo-Pacific Strategy of the U.S.)
b. China’s assertiveness in world affairs
i. Strings of pearls (naval base in Djibouti)
ii. Belt and Road Initiative
iii. Rise of the so-called wolf warrior diplomacy of China
c. Russia’s military dominance in Central Asia and Eastern Europe (role of CSTO in Kazakhstan; conflict with Ukraine)
d. Rise of Sino-phobia in West
e. Militarization of Space
4. Factors Inhibiting New Conflicts
a. Triumph of Regionalism (ASEAN, E.U, RCEP etc)
b. Integration of global economy and trade
c. Threat of transnational challenges (pandemic, climate change, extremism)
d. Resilience of multilateralism
e. Multipolarity of world politics
f. Differences between the E.U. and U.S
g. Absence of ideological fervour
5. Implications for Pakistan
6. Way Forward
a. Strengthening of multilateral diplomacy
b. Deepening of economic integration
c. Cultural exchanges
d. Narrative building
7. Conclusion

Even ppl with MS physics were cursing fpsc after paper.

I would strongly discourage taking it as a optional from now onwards because of the changed nature of scientific exams. Same was the case with chemistry

Subjects like Physics, Chemistry , Mathematics, Statistics etc are very risky, if they go well they earn you 150+ marks easily, but if not, you are doomed.

Brother, this is an excellent outline on global politics, comprehensive and very well written. The only deficiency that I can point out is that international relations(economic relations, strategic relations, relations on humitarian affairs and environment etc between states, both developed and developing and how these relations are being affected by global politics) are missing from the ouline. You might have mentioned these aspects in essay but they are not apparent from outline. This is just my opinion. I believe your outline is really impressive, on the whole. Wishing you best of luck.

First thing first, I am a girl, not a guy Secondly, Thanks for your valuable input. The topic in its spirit was very broad, you could mention everything, from climate change to nuclear non-proliferation and from disarmament to oil politics. I kept myself limited to geopolitics and what's happening around in recent years regarding threat of a new cold war scenario. Let's see how examiners view my effort.

I have been following this thread for many days but had lost my password xD. Thankfully, i remembered it today so i can be a part of it.

My Experience of CE-2022:
I gave my first attempt in 2022 (Well i completed my graduation in August 2021 so obviously). Also, i gave the attempt while working (I am a Software Engineer working since April 2021 full time).
My examination went fine. Essay was decent. I attempted 'How is terrorism and its perception shaped by mass media'. I took a historical approach in my essay. I posted my outline here long ago when i gave the exam. Here is the outline

http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-dates...ass-media.html

Overall, I believe essay went fine. Precis went average (my worst exam). GSA, CA and PA went decent as well. Islamiat was good too.
My optionals also went well. They were Pol Sci, Criminology, Anthropology, Gender Studies and Business Administration.

Looking forward to any feedback from other members here.

Is this exactly what you wrote there? In my humbled opinion there's lack of clarity in your outline. Nevertheless, my best wishes for you.

I believe instead of just saying there is a lack of clarity, you should explain a little that what shortcomings you see in the outline.

This is not a carbon copy, i have written only the bullet points in the outline here while in the exam i wrote complete sentences in my outline so that the clear meaning is conveyed.

My bad. I thought Marcus Aurelius must be a guy. I have also attempted the same essay with a different outline. May Allah pass us both. Ameen.
