Picture Story Writing Test

It is quite easy test if planned it beforehand. If u planned it at the spot, u will b unable to give better result in this test. U can write it in English or urdu. I recommend u to write it in English. There will b three pictures. Time for each picture is 5 mints.

Initially, Examiner will say, u start to write. After each 5 mints, Examiner will say write next story. U should try to write each story within its time.
In css2008, this picture story test was not included but included in 2009. In 2008, Situational test was included instead of picture story.

Our experience,

I took information from our friends who had given their psychological test before me. Few r saying pictures r not clear at all. So they said they wrote any story which came into mind at the spot. Most were saying that following pictures were observed

1. A mail and a femail r discussing any matter

2. There is a table in the room, a jug and a glass on table and a boy is
looking from window inside the room

3. A table and three chairs in a room. 2 persons sit on chairs and one is raising his hand in air. A flask alongwith 3 cups were on table

I observed (may b wrong) that psychologist selected only 3 pictures for whole exam in all centers. As most candidates observed above mentioned pictures.

If u could not observe picture, don’t worry, u can write any picture.
In my view, if u know which pictures were given by commission, u made their own stories at home. First practice, how many letters u can write in 5 mints. In my view anybody with normal speed can write 114 words. U should cram all three stories and practice them at home with stopwatch.

If u doesn’t find any idea about the pictures, write those crammed stories. In story u don’t mention any frightened event. In story u should point out only positive points of anybody or anything. Try to show leadership like qualities.

Don’t mention any event relating to terrorism. It does not give good impression.

Let say Three persons r in a room


One candidate writes, it is a room of terrorists. They planned their strategies here………….It shows negative approach.

If u write, it is a common room. Friends came here to discuss future plans of their welfare organization. It shows positive approach.

I mentioned in my previous post, there may b two possibilities;

1. U identify the picture
2. If picture is very blurred

In first situation, u will write story according to ur perception about picture.

There is also a third possibility in which u will have knowledge about pictures, which r given by psychologist.

The problem is how u will know about those pictures?

When psychologist panel will conduct exam at one centre, u can take information about all tests alongwith picture story. Pictures will b almost same in all centers, in my view.

So from those pictures, U make ur own stories and discuss with seniors.

In 2nd possibility, if u don’t identify picture, u can write that crammed picture story.

In 2009, many candidates said they could not identify pictures as the pictures were very blurred.
Most of the candidates told about those 3 stories which I already mentioned.

In next post, I will write the format of those 3 pictures, how u will write story?

U should not write our name in this way:

MIG, ZB

U can simply write Ijaz or Gill instead of MIG

Zohaib or Baluch Instead of ZB

Apropos to my earlier posts,

1. Favourite Personality must be alive and you have to give two names.It can be anybody who influenced you or inspired you.Don't go after big names for the sake of generating controversy or for the sound of that name.The personality MUST HAVE INSPIRED you.

2. Favourite book can be any one except the ones dealing with syllabus,or religion.Literary books can be mentioned.Books on society,travelling,gardening,sports, whatever you like to read can be written.(off course no need to mention suspense or thrillers or digest or cheap fiction).

The above is important because these will be a part of your personality.if you write those which contradicts your overall personality and or which are artificial,you will have a great deal of difficulty to defend them.So be natural in your selection and at the same time always try to remain neither over optimistic nor pessimistic.Be yourself but with a hope.

to be very honest, im not impressed with any living personality as such. Off course my father is my ideal but i dun want to mention him as parents are dearer to every1....now i have to select any living personality and read about him in detail. will you please help me in selection? like whether i should go for Abdul sittar Eidhi sahab or any business tycoon?

Same was the case with me.You can choose any non controversial personality like Mandela,Edhi,Mahatir,any sports man,filmstar,writer,philanthropist,business visionary,scientist,and even the President.But you must have enough knowledge about them to be able to defend your choice of selection and inspiration.
