I don’t want to get into any sorts of serious discussions but I thought I should put forth my point of view, since I scored better on the interview than on the written part and all those discussions have been somewhat upsetting for people on my side.

Firstly, the panel is highly experienced and no one can really challenge their decision. If the ‘Others’ can do that then ‘We’ can make an argument that the paper checkers haven’t been very even-handed with us. Because the truth is that people on my side have a not-so-impressive score on the written, owing to only a paper or two…

Secondly, your interview is more about your personality – the way you carry yourself and present it before the panel. So, we can’t be a good judge of ourselves because we don’t really know how people view us!

Your overall intelligence, mental promptness, and personality matter more than your knowledge at this point. The knowledge you require for your post or job shall be obtained through CTP and STP… all you need is the X factor that I think the panel is looking for. Had paper knowledge been everything, we would not have had the liberty to choose our own subjects. All the subjects would have been compulsory and the kind they wanted to judge us in. Let’s say, if I got 145 in Psychology and you scored less in another subject of your choice, how does that prove me to be superior to you in knowledge?

I know it hurts to see a big score on one side and a not-so-big one on the other…But, then it’s the same for ‘Us’ too and it’s a part of competitive examination.

I hope I make sense that’s all I had to say. Thanks for reading me.

Prayers and wishes for everyone!

First of all ....... i gave three reason ...sifarish was one of them ......

and i am not saying that everyone getting good marks got some sifarish. usually these people are only 5 to 6 in numbers.

and my two brothers are CSPs and are in FBR

and three of their friends got extra marks in interview at the time of generals.

and they accepted it.

and another guy the son of i think Saeed mehndi got 626 or something in written and got 250 around marks in interview.

and the level of his confidence at the CSA was seen by everyone.

and If you prepared well in the written and had a bad score in a subject and that score is compensated by the good interview.......then there is no doubt that Allah Has rewarded you for your efforts.

But as i had mentioned earlier that a person who got 202 marks in 2009 and now 165....does not make any sense.

well when you will enter in the bureaucracy you will come to know that having your father as an IG , General ETC is not enough.

Your Sifarishi Must have a good relationship with the panel members in service time.

This thing matters the most. (i.e;Lobby in Bureaucracy)

Bro you may have your own reasons but I have a different opinion than that of yours.
Here is my DMS: http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-dates...iadtes-10.html
and this is my interview: http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-inter...erviews-5.html

I have low score in interview in spite of a quite good interview. But I have complete trust in the honesty, integrity and experience of the worthy panel. Right answers are not the key for fetching good marks. They may have their own valid reasons for assessing a candidate. So we shall not have any fragment of ill will towards the worthy panel and the worthy commission

Thankyou for appreciating my essay score. I had written my essay on "Truth is a rare commodity despite the freedom enjoyed by the print media and electronic media". I really don't remember my outline now because it's been 15 months since I gave that exam. A day before the essay, I selected 3 random essays from past papers and brain stormed an outline for them because the outline was something new for me. I kept the essay simple and to the point and I made sure I stuck to what was asked in the essay. Since they had not specified if it was national or international press they wanted us to write about, I discussed the national and international media both. I remember giving a brief background to the origins of media, the world over and in pakistan, and also the recent mushroom growth we've witnessed. Then came the 'belly' of my essay and I commented on the positive and negative aspects of the media's growth while linking it to the topic at hand. I discussed both the electronic and print media quoting examples and emphasized objejctivity. I topped it off with a conclusion and some valid suggestions. That is all I remember for now. I like to keep things simple ,short and to the point because i feel things tend to run away from me if i complicate them too much. And even when they don't, i still keep it simple and discreet. That was my approach in the essay aswell. On that note, Congratulations to all those who made it and the very best of luck to everyone else. This may well be my last post on the forum unless ofcourse something comes up and makes me report back here. All the best!
One moment, please. Did you adorn your essay with the quotes of famous people?

PS: hope you come back and answer this to solve confusion of many.

For IR I consulted reading package of DR Tahir Amin, ex Chairman Deptt of IR, QAU. Additionally I read some chapters of Joshua S. Goldstein's book. Having European History as one of my optional subjects also helped to prepare History related topics. I was fortunate to have 19 MCQs correct. IR can give up to 70 marks if well prepared.

I want to give an example regarding lopsided criteria used by the interview panel. I know a person in 2010 interview who lied in interview that he was a fullbright scholar and he got extraordinary marks in interview.despite having below average marks in written ,he was allocated to a prestigious group due to this. I cant share his exact marks as it might lead to disclosure of his identity

after observing interview marks i think panel is now applying INDIRECT suitability by molding results via interview marks. and i think psychological report plays and will play important role on-wards.

Aisha K. Ghumman - 05200

Essay - 40 (though my best paper but I forgot to give an outline)
Precis & Composition - 49 (beats me!)
EDS- 57
Pak Affairs - 47
Current Affairs - 45
Islamiyat - 58 (w/o quoting ayats and only max 4 hadith in the whole paper and I still get a comparatively satisfactory score - what contradiction??)

Accounting and Auditing:
Paper I - 67 (are you joking, it's on my finger tips!)
Paper II - 79 (some redemption)
British History:
Paper I - 74
Paper II - 55 (why such a huge scoring gap between the 2 papers as my material was pertinent and the attempt similar)
Sociology - 61 (insulting to my intellectual sensibilities as my answers were not only comprehensive but had economic, political and social dimensions to it)
Journalism - 61 (yeah add insult to injury after sociology)

Total written: 693
Interview - 165 (DISASTER!!) the reason for the low score has not only eluded me but is beyond my comprehension.

My score both in Viva and written has been very disappointing. There ought to be more transparency and elucidation on what the examiner is looking for as the only thing missing in my papers was 'headings' and internationally headings are not only 'not' accepted as they break the flow in a 20 marks questions but are considered irritating as well.
Nonetheless, still hoping to get allocated (the rest remains in the domain of the unknown, presiding only with the Most Knowledgeable)
