"Lesson learnt".

Dont study selectively, adpt comprehensive approach.
Be prepared for surprizes and must be ready for worst case scenario

-
And my Islamiyat paper went disastrous.
I had prepared for Islamiyat in English but God knows what came to my mind that right at the moment when i was going to start the MCQs i decided i would write my paper in Urdu.
And that proved to be a blunder.
-
I attempted a paper in Urdu after so many years and i made so many mistakes of dictation. Nobody has ever used a "rough sheet" in Islamiyat paper, but i did.
I was finding it difficult to write the correct words. (urdu imla'a) I first wrote the difficult words on that "rough sheet" , then decide which word looked better looking and familiar then wrote that inside my answer sheet. aur is k baad bhi i had written "tamaddun" with a "toy'en" instead of a "tay"
-
Lesson learnt: Go with planned strategy.
At the time of exam, experimentation should be avoided.

Default Css 2012

I also attempted islamyat in urdu, though I made up my mind well before exam. I must admit that my urdu language in paper was very average. My decision to use urdu was due to the fact that I have learnt so many Ahadith and poetic verses by heart which I couldnt have produce by ussing english medium.

Hi...2012 is my first attempt...CSS is all about writing!!don't restrict yourself to specific syllabus especially in Sociology,Journlism,Pak affairs,Islamyat.... Need to keep two points...Stay in touch with general issues & improve writing skill as much as you can...because during those 3 hours your hand shouldn't be stopped...during break after first paper don't engage your mind in books..i have seen so many holding books, notses etc moving around..avoid this...!! Goodluck to All..!!

The CSS exam was truly a nerve-wrecking experience. I was placed in Government College Commerce Karachi center. I was appalled by the facilities in that exam center. There was only one bathroom in disgusting condition for more than 1000 students.

Moreover, in our center there was bizarre and inconsistent invigilation. The subjective part of compulsory exams was given after 30 minutes, even though most had completed the objective part in 10 minutes. This situation happened in almost all compulsory and optional papers except International Law and Psychology ( I AND II).
The Objective part of EDS was 80 minutes duration and since I had completed the objective part in 30 minutes, I had to stay idle 50 minutes during that paper.
I complained to the invigilator, since this situation was happening only in Hall A of the Government College Commerce Karachi. I quoted my friends account of other centers, where subjective paper was given once you have completed the objective paper. The head invigilator replied that the rules of this center are different and they are unconcerned with what happens in other centers.

But I think this could have been a blessing in disguise, because I gave more than the time required to MCQs and then there was no chance of writing irrelevant stuff in the subjective part because I only had 35 minutes per answer for each question. So it was direct, no nonsense, no bullshit approach to answering question in the exams.
In sociology paper, I felt the need to use the bathroom, I went there and found a long line of 10 people waiting outside the sickening bathroom so therefore I decided to carry on paper instead of relieving myself.
The exam center Government College Commerce Karachi is disgusting, has no parking facilities, there is traffic jam around and lots of noises coming in the classes. Therefore, I wish they change this center next time around.

Very true! I had given my optional papers in Govt Commerce college and the experience was very bad. I had given my compulsory papers in D.J Science College, it was comparatively better. But we were shifted to Govt commerce college later.

You can Draw margins as much as you can I mean on right side as well as Top+ Bottom.. I did so in most of the papers.. Because they used to give us Answer sheets 10-15min earlier so, one can draw margins its not a weird activity at all And after drawing them paper looks nice, by the way

hmmmmm css 2012

is such a wonderful and life time experience for me,
i think every one should experience it,the exam pressure for css is too much to get on nerves,
as it was my first attempt so obviously i am scared and little bit confuse.

but ALHAMDULILAH, all went well.
after my essay paper, i was just like " ye to easy hai loug aesy darte hai"
no doubt compulsory are comparatively easy and expected but all my optionals are totally surprising for me
bs Allah je karam krei,
any way overall good experience ,and my conclusions are one must concentrate on paper attempting and presentations technique apart from covering syllabus,
that's most important.

good luck to all
