Default Please guide me for my optional subject
i have done my BSc Electrical Engineering and want to appear in CSS examinations in 2013.
i have chose optional subjects as:
1)Physics
2)Indo-Pak history
3)forestry
4) sociology

is it a good choice???

your optional combination is good...however, indo-pak is not a scoring subject these days, replace it with any other history subject or geography,psychology,any law subject with regional languages (as they all have been scoring.)

No doubt you are an engineer but still do view the syllabus & past papers of physcis....physics can only br marks yeilding if you have strong grip on this subject ...very crystal clear concepts.

Scoring trend of Indopak is much vulnerable. Better replace it with some subject whose scoring trend remains good on average. i.e. Geography, Pyschology, Arabic, European History. However, nothing can be said with surity about scoring trend of any subject in CSS. I personally feel that Indopak might be good scoring in CSS 2013 because candidates are apperehesive of its worst performance in last two years causing in less number of candidates to actually opt it for 2013. When a subject is opted by a few candidates, it may become easy to create difference and fetch marks. Anyways... opting this subject is very risky. It may go either way... high scoring, low scoring.

Brother, scoring trend may not be consistent across different years. However, following subjects have been good scoring most of the times:

Pyschology
Arabic
Persian
Geography
Islamic History
European History
Sociology
Journalism
Forestry
Regional Languages. i.e. Punjabi
International Law
USA History

Scoring trend changes every year.However Languages and science subjects are considered ever scoring subjects.

quite good combination..both I.L & sociology are scoring.if reluctant to opt law than go for sociology. start your preparation good luck!

its a good combination...i hope you would have seen the past papers of physics & app maths..you feel yourself comfortable with it give it a short! Its scoring if you work hard!
