Avoid regular use of "Netspeak" or other "cute" grammar or spelling (For example: writing "R U a woman?" instead of "Are You a woman?").

Are they scoring?
It seems like we have three potential subjects in common (I am not opting for sociology). We should interact more about preparation etc.

Post CSS 2014 examination

Dear All,

My name is Ruman Bilal and I am a practicing lawyer and just came back from london a couple of months ago. I have spent all of my time in UK and now came to Pakistan after 8 years. I am really willing to do CSS but need some help regarding the course as how to start and what to do in the beginning as I do not have a single clue at the moment. I did browse this webpage and try to find out some details but if i get a help from a former or present student it will be great.

Kind regards
Ruman Bilal

first of all check past papers and then check this link http://www.cssforum.com.pk/beginners...ject-analysis/.
select optional according to your educational background, interest and scoring trend.
may LORD bless you

Hi Isha,

It seems like you've been giving valuable advice to the 2014 aspirants. First of all, thank you! Secondly, I would also like to seek your guidance on a couple of matters. They won't be as trivial as what subjects should I choose, as I personally think that should be someone's own choice. However, I will try to extract a certain rationale before deciding whether I must opt a subject or not.

I am doing an undergraduate degree in Economics and International Relations. However, I am quite interested in journalism, psychology and history. Moreover, I believe CSS exams can give me a good opportunity to learn something in the field of Business Administration. Hence, my initial choice of subjects is as follows:

1. Islamic history and culture
2. Psychology
3. Journalism
4. Business Administration

Barring Islamic history, I have no prior knowledge in other subjects. However, I do have 9-10 months to prepare for them. My question to you is, would you suggest me take up these subjects seeing that I have no background in three of them? That is to say, would you believe 9-10 months are sufficient in the preparation of these subject if I am to start from scratch? Please do consider my interest and motivation for the subjects.
Secondly, is there any "scoring/non-scoring" trend that I must keep in mind before finalizing my choice of these subjects?

Your help would be much appreciated, thank you!

Regards,
Ahmed

I am also css aspirant.
first of all I would say, css is a game of luck, motivation and hard work.
per my experience in css forum, scoring trend matters a lot.
every aspirant should opt his/her optional according to his/her interest, educational background and scoring trend.
IHC,
Psychology,
Arabic,
business administration,
public administration,
journalism,
I Law and regional languages are very scoring subjects and your optional are good and scoring, stick to these subjects.
10 months for css preparation are enough if you can manage well.
best of luck

Thank you. I really appreciate you taking time out to advise me. I am glad to know that the choices I have made are considered "scoring" traditionally. It's a long thread so I haven't gone through it completely and might have missed it earlier, but could you kindly share more details about your experience? For example, have you taken CE yet? If yes, how much time did you give yourself to prepare? What were your options? And if the result is out, and you don't mind sharing, can you please share your result with us?

This information will help in shaping up my strategy. I would also be able to set achievable goals for myself.

Once again, thanks a ton!

Regards,
Ahmed

Just to clarify, what I meant by my previous post was that are you going to take your CE exams the first time or the second time? If it's your first, then please disregard the whole post lol
