kindly tell me about the comprehensive books for the preparation of EDS AND essays

AOA...i am also 2015 aspirant.....
that would be really great to start a group study because we all are new aspirants.. my optional are sociology journalism ,political science .IR and history of USA ..dear friends how is my subject combination?? ..

European History, Political Science, Constitutional law, IR ... anyone with any of these subjects ?

Hye! I m also going to appear in 2015 exams.. And also a begginer..

Optional subjects are:

Psychology

Sociology

Punjabi

Arabic( not conformed.. Confused about this subject.. Want to opt for indo-pak history)

Consult EDS by Kashirmi , its good enough
For essay, don't consult any book unless you'll be confused because mostly books are revise every year not updated. Moreover, plenty of irrelevant material is written in such books. You're suppose to write essay not thesis in the paper

For writing a quality essay, you should enrich your English proficiency, first of all you need to have grip over tenses, basic sentence structure and such grammar stuff. Read DAWN newspaper daily, it'll help you in essay writing, general and current affairs as well and practice topics from past papers and get your essay checked by an experienced professor or CSP or post in essay section of this forum. Keep in touch with human development index and economic survey statistics, both will help you in quoting certain aspects in essay and current affairs

Your said combination is good except political science, its lengthy and low scoring too so don't opt it Replace it with psychology (200), Persian (200) or geography (200).

I'd suggest you opt Persian (200) or geography (200) as compare to Indo-Pak. Indo-Pak isn't too scoring. Persian is pretty much scoring subject. You can get 160 + marks in Persian with dedicated and committed study But if you wanna opt in between Arabic and Indo-Pak, then Arabic would be better option.

Yes its scoring, they're right. I must tell you scoring in any subject also depends upon you. If you can express well and in a unique manner and have interest in Arabic, then do opt it

Salaam everyone... I am an aspirant for 2015.. But I have one great confusion... I have done O levels and then CAT and ACCA and I am also having a degree of Bsc(hons) in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes uni U.k via ACCA route. I don't have any degree of inter as I have not done A levels because I chose doing CAT. So will I be eligible for CSS? Please note that I do possess Bachelors foreign degree but not of intermediate. Kindly reply me soon. I'll be very thankful.
